At the end of the day Vardy doesn't need to prove to us that he's a brilliant footballer, but he does need to demonstrate that he suits this England team better than the other options and he probably doesn't.

Loftus Cheek has had a brilliant game. Dominated the midfield. Wouldn't mind him starting the first game.

Unfortunately England just see Vardy as a long ball player and tend to play long balls over the top from their own half. Vardy is a much better player then that and the one time henderson actually played a through ball Vardy was behind their defence and looked dangerous. He's wasted in that shit team.

I’d rather Vardy didn’t play, it’s too frustrating knowing how good he is and seeing him get zero chances.

Good result and deserved win against Costa Rica. England were the more active, more daring team.

Just wish Vardy could be more involved, it's as if he's purposefully ignored most of the time.

Maguire bossed it.

 

On the plus side, no injuries going into the tournament, pretty much everyone has gotten a runaround. Bodes well for the tournament.
