Ross-Kemp Posted 16 August 2018 Posted 16 August 2018 Great performance by Rangers tonight, 0-0 away at Maribor to qualify 3-1 on aggregate. I think Burnley may have asked not to be on TV (Rangers did in the last round) due to attendances.
Super_horns Posted 16 August 2018 Posted 16 August 2018 Yes think that is right. We play them on Sunday so going into extra time might give us half a chance.
Finnegan Posted 16 August 2018 Posted 16 August 2018 Probably the best possible result really. They get dragged in to extra time, barely win, have to stay in the competition but are clearly too shit to go far. Should nicely torpedo their season.
ScouseFox Posted 16 August 2018 Posted 16 August 2018 not having that zenit game. something hilariously bad has happened there, surely. need two goals with ten men and get them, go a goal down in extra time so need two more goals, score 3 in the last few minutes. ok. burnley are absolute dross.

Dinamo 4-0 up from the first leg, ZSP only 1-0 up in the 65th minute of the second leg tonight, score a second goal, get a man sent off and then score two more to force extra time, and then score three more in the last five minutes of ET (including two pens and a Dinamo red card) to win the match 8-1 and 8-5 on aggregate. UEFA might want to take a look at that one. Wouldn't be surprising given they're Russian/Belarusian but there is a pretty clear gulf between the sides. Very impressive result for Burnley btw
MC Prussian Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Olympiacos next for Burnley. Will the clean sheet streak continue for Joe Hart? Will we see yet another return fixture for Burnley going into extra time? Will Sean Dyche be able to put his gravely voice to good use in Europe again? Who has more pound notes at hand for both fixtures - the Greek or the English? Questiones, questiones...

It's all a little bit fishy. Then for Zenit to score four more with a man down in extra time...
Super_horns Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 They missed some chances though as well! The 2nd penalty was rather soft...
Corky Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45168370 "Tonight's was a sublime goal," added Dyche. "That is something we don't get enough credit for. If that is a more trendy name than Jack Cork, it would be raved about." I know, Burnley never get any praise in the media, do they?

'What a corker'...it writes itself.
Brainy Posted 30 August 2018 Posted 30 August 2018 A team from Luxembourg have made it to the Group Stages..
AKCJ Posted 30 August 2018 Posted 30 August 2018 Dyche is an utter disgrace for fielding a weakened side in a must win European game. Bet their fans are furious.

Weird one. Not like they have other priorities, expect they should be safe in the league regardless of Europa, not like they will be pushing for the title either.
urban.spaceman Posted 30 August 2018 Author Posted 30 August 2018 First European tour in 50 years and it's ****ing empty. They should call it Dearth Moor.
UniFox21 Posted 30 August 2018 Posted 30 August 2018 Burnley have missed way too many chances. Like the one Vydra has just skied
StanSP Posted 30 August 2018 Posted 30 August 2018 Haha see ya Burnley. European dream over before it barely began.
UniFox21 Posted 30 August 2018 Posted 30 August 2018 "How cruel is football". Olympiakos have had a handful of chances and taken their best one. Burnley have had tonnes of chances and they've missed all of them badly
irishfoxkev Posted 30 August 2018 Posted 30 August 2018 Oops. 1 all. 2 more in last 5 mins plus stoppage needed
