Europa League 18/19

That was horrible. They deserved it though.

I've met some really friendly Burney fans though and I wouldn't begrudge them a European tour like we had. They're a provincial club punching above their weight - kudos to them.

Aberdeen got about a twentieth for finishing second than Burnley got for finishing 7th.

Financially, Burnley are much bigger.

And Aberdeen are, by definition, about as provincial as you can get.

Their recent forays into Europe have been very brief.

So some kudos to Aberdeen, too.

Of course, from a selfish Leicester City point of view, of course we want Burnley to progress and play in the group stages and be weaker for it.

But I know more Aberdonians than Burnleyers....

All very true, but I was talking about some Leicester fans more generally wanting them to fail.

Respect to both Aberdeen and Burnley.

Aberdeen for putting Burnley to the brink of elimination. Did the whole of Scotland proud with that display, spectacular equalizer by Ferguson, as well.

Burnley for progressing one stage further, now facing Istanbul Basaksehir.

Say hello to Gökhan for me:

I mean, they're going to get absolutely taken to pieces in my opinion. Could be wrong but Basaksehir have a hell of a squad lol can't see Burnley matching them personally.

Olympiakos or Lucerne if we can get past Istanbul - unlikely.

But if we do get past the Turks, I can see us beating Olympiakos/Lucerne and getting to group stage (not ideal).

You don't want to reach the group stages?

Burnley are only taking 17 players for their game in Istanbul tomorrow.

They'll be lucky to get away from such a hostile place with a point.

It will certainly be an atmosphere they're unlikely to have encountered before.

Some of those champions league games from a decade or so involving Galataseray looked electric.

A point would be a pretty good result for them. I suspect they'll lose though, same as you.

Am surprised that their game today is not on television live anywhere.

I know it's just a qualifying round, but BT or Sky should follow and broadcast these games (smaller English clubs in the tournament etc) imo.

only BT have the rights so Sky wouldn't ever have shown it but I do agree. I'm surprised Burnley or Rangers' games aren't on anywhere, even on Premier Sports or FreeSports.

Absolutely insane match between Zenit SP and Dinamo Minsk tonight.

Dinamo 4-0 up from the first leg, ZSP only 1-0 up in the 65th minute of the second leg tonight, score a second goal, get a man sent off and then score two more to force extra time, and then score three more in the last five minutes of ET (including two pens and a Dinamo red card) to win the match 8-1 and 8-5 on aggregate.

UEFA might want to take a look at that one.
