Again, you could argue that was more out of necessity than trying to give youth players a chance. Our squad was quite reduced at that stage, if I remember correctly.

 

Still not going to read too much into pre-season, but I'm eagerly looking forward to how many youngsters he'll give a chance comes the Manchester United game.

MA is limited, but reliable - and unfortunately still offers more than Gray or  Diabate.  

He gave us zero goals and one assist after 1/1/2018 

 

We need to be rid of this sort of low expectation mindset.

Well there were games when people went ape shit at Puel for bringing him on, so I'm going to take that as there were other options people would have preferred.

I must say, Josh Gordon looked red-hot tonight. Ndukwu also doing great, and Choudhury had one of his better games as a deep-lying central midfielder.

 

Youngsters all pretty much impressed me no end. :appl:

More of that, please!

 

Maybe, just maybe we can compensate for the lack of one particular player with the togetherness, unity and effort of many secondary choices..

 

Now bring on Lille!

Fair. I think the kids have done well out of this pre season. It'd be a waste to stick them back in the U23s, they need loaning out. I'd like to see Elder start at LB against Lille, just to see to see what he can do.
