We have some very promising, brave confident young players

Chilwell has been working on his defending

Iheanacho is a goal scorer

Maddison is a baller

Albrighton telling Silva that Valencia are "a good side" at the beginning if the second half was funny

The pressing was highly impressive pardon the pun

Choudury is like a million times better than Iborra

If Maguire ****s off to play for Moroninho then Darnell is the man

Callum Elder looks awesome

Yeah maybe I'm getting carried away but that was a good display against a strong team.

No not at all! That was a super encouraging display from a youthful Leicester with bags full of energy and decent quality. If our lads coming through look that good now, then the future is rosy.

As you say Nacho is clinical and we our main target man hit 20 last season. So we have both a great first and second choice striker and one of them is still very young. Maddison... well check out his own thread. We might be asking "Riyad who?" if we can play like that every week.

The big thing is can we play like that consistently? We will find out quite soon!

Energy, Pace just need to sprinkle in a bit of creativity and finishing. Youngsters look better than  the more experienced players. Clear out time.

It tells us that we have to have a clear out of older players who won't feature.

Young hungry players on a measly amount amount that have a point to prove, over disgruntled I should be starting flops anyday

I think we're getting a bit carried away. The kids did well, I said so in the match thread, but they aren't ready to replace the first team yet.

DJ vs Benny

Easier said than done. He's got rid of Huth and the omission of Slim and Ulloa surely means he's getting rid of them too. He clearly favours youth and its good.

I didn't say replace, but certainly a lot should be first team squad members. Hamza over Iborra and Darnell over Benny tonight for a start. I'd even say Elder has shown in pre season that Fuchs can maybe go home to USA earlier than planned.

Being better than Benny doesn't make you a PL player. I'd like to see Elder at LB before I decide but he's a promising player for sure.

Not sure anyone’s really suggesting that. No harm giving them a bit of praise as we’re quick enough to criticise

Keep in mind it was only a friendly. But they done themselves no harm.  Amartey is looking better, Johnson done well and maybe we don't need a new CB.

Josh looked quality up top. All in all a good workout and a lot of promise. The problem for Puel is introducing them slowly and keeping them happy in the meantime. A few will obviously go out on loan.

What impressed me was how seamlessly the replacements fitted into the system - Puel has clearly instilled his playing philosophy throughout the entire squad.

The youngsters knew this was a rare chance to gain a first team place or good loan or transfer.

Valencia's players were, I suspect, trying to get match fit without sustaining an injury.

But they did well regardless. They played well last season together and again today.

Our academy's been great for a while. In the last few years it's more or less produced three Premier League level players.

Very pleased with that display.

Looks like I'm gonna have to replace my avatar....sigh !

Sorry Captain Morgan, but the day I do that, I say a final, final, definitely final goodbye to the Premier League Champions team I never thought we could be.

But you helped it happen Wes. 'Sniffle'.

ndukwu impressed me he seems quite the creative player although in terms of strength he'd get raped in a profesional league.

Johnson a solid defender decent pace and can win areial battles very easily.

Choudury screens the back four extremely well so if ndidi were to leave he could step in his role

These three for me have great potential. They need a loan.

I’m a really big fan of Choudhury. But he’s got a hell of a long way to go before he’s even at the level of Iborra.

Chilwell was awful and was definitely our weak point in defence. He has to be one of the most frustrating players in a while. I think he's got the technical ability but his brain fails him too often. I worry about him.

Choudhury would benefit from a loan deal to a high championship side. Get regular experience then he'll be in a better position. Certainly not ready for regular prem games yet. Johnson impressed me. Again needs experience, but looks like he certainly got the talent.

That’s the most bizarre analysis of a game I think I’ve ever seen..... Valencia we’re playing at snails pace and have Zaza upfront, I’m confident I could mark that bag of shit out of a game. Chilwell still looks uneasy at the back, a couple of time he needlessly lifted the ball out of play when a simple ball was on.... Hamza is a million miles away from Iborra, it may look impressive when he chases after people trying to hack them to pieces, but he isn’t anywhere near the quality we need at this time. Some of the kids look decent, George Thomas looks a bit all fart no no follow through so not that impressed, Gordon looks like there’s a bit of potential there, as does Ndwuku....

It seems we will over rely on Maddison, and we all know Kalechi will again be a bit part player as Vardy will be the main man... They looked ok against a pretty average Valencia side, no reason to get carried away just yet.....

Keep the young ones and farm out the flops on loan.

Not impressed then?

Indeed it does but I worry they’ll just sit here on their wages clogging up the squad because no other team will match their money, there are half a dozen players we no longer need but are still here.
