With 15 caps for Turkey wouldn't he be more likely to get a permit than Benkovic who doesn't have any for Croatia?

Work permit really should be a formality with this guy, but you never know until it’s done. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

will be fine.. but yeah there is no freedom of movement between turkey and the EU.

Doesn't need one as Croatia are in the EU.

Croatia don't have free access to the labour market until 2020 so he more than likely would have needed one.

Work permits aren't just based on caps, they are also now based on cost of the player, wages, playing in european competitions... see below. You only need 4 points.

Mad if we sign him now on top of Benkovic, surely would mean one of the CBs is off.

Wes

Jonny

Maguire

Benk

Benny

& Soyunku?

Only need 2 for each position. Unless it's a 3-2-3-2 formation it doesn't make any sense

Wes is going to be a cheerleader at best this season, kept in the squad for his leadership, Benalouane will be back in the u23s quick sharp. He's awful.

It gives us four players to cover two positions with two of them being kids with plenty of time to develop.

Not really all that weird a situation tbf.

Only 3 of those could realistically be classed as first teamers though, Harry, Evans and Soyuncu.

Benkovic will probably get game time but in the cups etc

benny should be no where near the first team and I think we'll see Wes being phased out

You name 6 played do we really want to be playing Benny and Morgan if Maguire  and Evans get injured

Think Wes will play first game as we are short of central defenders, but will be loaned out to somewhere like Forest or Stoke at the end of the month.

Could end up with one of the leagues best CB pairings out of that lot, and I’m not talking Morgan and Benny.

Morgan and Benkovic?

Wes will be 35 in January...  (Got the same birthday as me so that's how i know)

Been a great servant but this is the beginning of the end for him.

Depends how quickly Wes can be phased out, with all due respect. Even then we have Evans & Maguire as starters, I think Benny's only applicable use is training practice but he's still on the payroll. Benkovic is going to be pushing for first team footy and this Turkish lad is a full international, so has to start.

So it creates problems of shear volume of players who aren't going to be playing, with no guarantee anyone wants them enough to loan - doesn't make sense.

Gotta feeling it was Benky or this lad

Genuinely didn't know that!

If Maguire stays and Soyunca signs I think that's likely as he'll be 5th choice and if he wants to play this season rather than hang around and see his contract out that's what he'll have to do.

I suspect we'll try and loan Benalouane out to Turkey or France and supplement his wage until his contract runs out next season.

Sorry about the dodgy copy and paste, but dem da rules!

There's also an "exceptional talent" way of getting round those rules too isn't there?

Always quite an impressive feat to get a work permit turned down

Can see Benny accepting a season long loan to a championship club. We will have to pay most his wages, but no point him sat in the reserves with 0 likelihood of playing, even in the cups.
