The goal *not goal* against Yeovil is one of my favourite moments! i'd dragged the father in law along to watch that game, in a season where we were doing well, and if it wasn't for Kasper i'd have dragged him out on a cold tuesday night to watch us lose 1-0 to Yeovil lollol

The words "club legend" are often thrown about too often, but in this case Kasper Schmeichel is the definition of a club legend. He was signed by Sven Goran-Eriksson of all people and has been here ever since. He was player of the year in the Championship, in the Premiership and has proved himself on both the European and World scene. This guy had a challenge that very few people will ever had to face; as the son of one of the best players ever to play in the Premier League he had a great upbringing that would have been relatively stress free. But rather than rest on his laurels, he stepped out of his father's shadow to become every bit the legend in his own right. He went on loan to League 2, to Scotland, and never gave up until he became an integral part of one of the most famous sides and greatest ever romantic stores in football. Honestly I don't think people realise just how big a deal this is, because he could so easily have taken the easy way out, but has to go down on a very small list of players that have followed their fathers to match or equal their success. Only Paolo Maldini whose father was also a decorated international springs to mind.

For me he is our best ever goalkeeper. People will talk about Shilton and Banks, but they did not do as much as Kasper has done for our club, and I would argue he matched their feats for his own country at international level having been voted Danish player of the year multiple times. After this season he could well have played for the club more times than those two. On top of all this, for me as a fan the thing I love about this player more than anything else is a very simple one - he takes the time after EVERY home game he plays to applaud the fans before he walks off the pitch. That might be frivolous to some, but for me those are the actions of a true legend, because football is nothing without the fans.

Cracking news, simple as that.

Kasper is the best in Leicester. Banks and Stilton were the best in the world.

Nice to tie down him and Vardy to improved longer term contracts, and also show the other players that they will be rewarded with long contracts deep into their careers, if they perform well and consistently!

As for Danny Ward, I do hope he really pushes Kasper for that no.1 spot, otherwise it is hard to justify 12million on someone who is unlikely to be a number 1 for another few years. Not complaining at having 2 decent keepers though, but just hope he genuinely challenges Kasper.

Really happy about this. I know he didn't come through our academy, but he really does feel like one of our own.

His interviews are always excellent too - always seems so down to earth and honest. A real leader.

I hope this also puts to bed the whole 'Schmeichel and Puel don't get on' bullshit that's been flying around. They're both here for the long haul because they want to build even more success for our club. End of conversation.

ok... he is the pits...  the 5th choice keeper...  lousy good for nothing... only gets picked because of his Dad...
