Randomly thrown together teams containing squad players rarely work, this isn't a new phenomenon either. Hence why we've been knocked out by some proper shit teams over the years. Our backup players aren't very good, ergo, our recruitment has been shit is another thing it tells us... but we knew that already.

I agree but doesn't mean I should accept it.

I don't expect people to, I'd be angrier at the fact that the club put little emphasis on the cups though, rather than just laying that at Puel's door. The premier league and the money in it are what the club are interested in... probably more so than ever with the money going into the ground and the training ground.

Since when did we get good at penalties though? :) Pretty dire game last night, bought some good seats though, wasn't sat too far away from Kasper, who was sat on a row with himself the only one on it. Saw Gazza and Martin Johnson as well. Best of all was nice to see Top looking well.

Back to the "poor seats" on Saturday lol

As terrible a game as that was to watch, I love this picture. Mendy is underrated so great to see some love going his way. I also liked that in the aftermath of this, he gave all the glory to Ward for his save, because tucking away a winning penalty is just something you do, you know ;).

You have to love Albrighton, Fuchs and Vard' reactions here too, that is the kind of spirit that won us the title. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Yeah agreed regards the squad at the moment - probably lack a bit of 'deadliness' there at the moment though.

So you bought a season ticket to exercise your right to not watch Leicester under Puel?

Having seen the form in terms of results and the dire style of play since January last season I thought it a shoo in that he’d be sacked over the summer.

Im still waiting ffs

I know i'll get alot of Sh^t for this, but we lost our way as soon as Puel took Silva off.

I'm not saying he set the game alight but, he looked decent with a few great passes and glimpses of class.

As soon as Puel replaced him for Mendy, we lacked any real intent.

Dont get me wrong i'm not suggesting Silva needs to be captain and play everygame. I just think he was unlucky to have been dragged off when other players were kept on.

Bring it on!!!!!!

If that first hour of chinese water torture was “our way”, then glad we lost it...

How many teams outside the top 5 are producing good football on a regular'ish basis? One maybe two, even then it's wildly inconsistent and isn't getting the results people on here would also want to go with the football. The two I'm thinking of, Bournemouth and Wolves... Wolves are 5 without a win, losing 4 of them. Bournemouth have lost 3 out of 5, with a 0-0 draw against Southampton at home with two shots on target (sound familiar).

My gut feeling is what people expect and what can actually be achieved are two different things. I'm not suggesting there isn't room for improvement, but the way people go on you'd think things are currently a total disaster, which they just aren't.

Our goals scored are more than 11 others, shots on goal are 10th in the list, we're 10th in the table, we've not scored less in open play than most others, despite what people say. We're about two points and two places off where you'd hope we'd be, which is 8th. People said it would be a disaster without Mahrez, that we'd be near the bottom. But we're still scoring and we're 10 points off bottom. We're 9 points off 5th!

I really can't help but think people are just going well over the top about our current state.

I'm interested to see what happens during the December and January games where we start to play a better calibre of team with dynamic attackers to torment our vulnerable defence. Of late we have tightened up at the back but also goals have dried up in the for column which given the teams we've played is frustrating.

We will be involved in more open games against better opposition which will help our chances of scoring but will we concede a load again? We might well be 10th but could be much nearer the dross closer to the relegation zone after the next 5-8 games and the ability to back Puel then will be a huge test for even the most rational of fans.

I think the heights we are at now are as high as we'll be again all season.

the beeb had us 53% …….but yes, 2 shots on target out of 10 (and one of those was shinji's 'pass back') ……………...

wasn't a vintage performance by any means - plenty of the players haven't had regular first team football (though i expect the same could be said for soton)

Me too! We had club record signing Roger Davies as top scorer with 4 goals for the season. Maybe we should set up a virtual reality suite at the KP and make everybody relive that nightmare of a season so there's a bit more perspective about our current position?

Maybe an unpopular opinion. But I really do not rate Mendy, and I think he really, really stifles our attacking play. What does he do that King couldn’t? He may pop up in the right place at the right tile in terms of defending, but he doesn’t contribute anything in terms of attacking play. We don’t need two defensive midfielders, surely?

Drops back into CB when Chilwell or Ricardo go marauding forward. To avoid being caught out with them too far up the pitch we do need that. The creativity in Puels system is intended to come from the front 4 and the full backs, the CB and CM are there to get it to those 6.

The front 4?

You are putting a very good spin on our 1 up front system aren’t you?

Yes the front 4, if you were actually watching the games you'd see that in a 4-2-3-1 system the 3 attacking midfielders join in and rotate around, pushing beyond the 1 at times.

Beyond the one at times is about right....

Well yeah, otherwise it be a plain 4-2-4... They're supposed to link with Vardy, push beyond him at times as part of the movement up top but Vardy is still the main striker. If you want to provide valid criticism of them then it's that while they change positions between them during the course of a game (wingers swap, Maddison drifts outside for a bit), they don't do it during a single phase and are a bit too static, making it harder for the ball carrier to hit them to start with, and meaning the opposition is set and ready when they do receive it.
