splinterdream Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 I really don't see what people's problems are with Benny. He signed for us and got the best contract he could, when he played for us he gave his all, he wants to play - so what? I think he gets more stick than he deserved, personally when he played when Morgan/huth injured he bought in passing out from the back. I think he's a lot better than people here give him credit for.
les-tah Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 i think its disgusting that you lot have an issue with Benny because hes the first openly homosexual footballer player.

420Hashish Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 I think the real reason he isn't playing is that he "accidentally" took Puel out in training. Who knows how many times?

I admit he would try to defend quite high up the pitch but I remember when he came in the side we went from hoofball to playing out from the back, he's comfortable on the ball and has made some decent challenges, he never really got a massive run of games.

The amount of times he's gone for a tackle and managed to completely either miss the ball and take out the man, or gone to ground incredibly too early and the players walked past him. Need i mention the pre-season scissor tackle he made?

The bad challenge pre season always comes out but I just didn't see the numerous bad challenges you mention, he does make challenges to high up the pitch which could be down to not getting the pace of the prem, you can see on his highlights vid that when he wins the ball it looks fantastic but lose it and if no one is covering it puts you in trouble. We've seen Wes get sent of numerous times in a row, we've seen Maguire go missing or make back passes giving the ball away. In the grand scheme of things I think slagging the bloke off is out of order, if we saw him play a season in a settled back 2 and he made serious errors or had a bad attitude or disciplinary record then fine, but give the bloke a break ffs.

Stopped taking this seriously after reading those words. Highlights are meant to make you look good, Musa looks a world beater in highlight vids. The fact is I've seen enough of him to be confident in saying he isn't good enough for this league. If he was; 3 managers wouldn't have ignored him and various teams would be snapping our hands off for him.

I'm not basing my view on highlights, I've watched probably every match he's played and some he's played for U23s, I don't need you to take my comments seriously, it's all a matter of opinions and I have mine which I know bucks the trend. I don't think he's brilliant, I just don't think he's terrible and that it's disrespectful to tell him to f' off.

I take it you don't watch the u23's very much. Hughes, Knight and Pascanu are all better than him and possibly Johnson too

He had a very good run in the team toward the back end of 16/17, especially impressing me in the champions league. Just too erratic. Wears his heart on his sleeve way too often as a player and it just means he's rash. Good, but not better than what we have. Granted with a run in the side he could be better but we won't know that now I don't think.
Foxxed Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 I'll miss him when he leaves. Never have I liked a player so much who plays so little actual football for us.
