Foxes1 Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 These Nigerian articles get everywhere I had an email recently from a Nigerian prince offering me a share in the fortune he has locked away, think it was fake news just like this article.
lgfualol Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 Reckon he will go Arsenal/Man U if he was to go anywhere. But I could see him staying.

Prince Musa? Offering shares in his Petrol Station empire?
Dames Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 He's having a really average season in a team that is under performing and conceding a lot of goals from silly mistakes. The time to get a high fee for him was after the World Cup - Nobody will come close to paying what we want for him this summer after the season he's just had. Unless he has a really good Nations League to restore some of the hype he'll be staying here. Personally I think with the formation change Southgate fancies a few players ahead of him now especially if Joe Gomez can stay fit.
Ashley Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 Rehashed article from an interview a few weeks ago non story. You may laugh but when I was away with England in Spain last year. The newspapers over there had Maguire to Madrid all over them. The Spanish bloke in the pub seen my Leicester flag hung up and bought the paper over to us sitting down, tapped the paper and said "who Real Madrid want they will get, I cant see it happening but if they want him he is gone"
Nalis Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 I refuse to read any Nigerian article unless its in pidgin.
davieG Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 Harry Maguire remains confident Leicester City are 'still rising' Centre-back says the club have to start targetting silverware ByJordan Blackwell 05:00, 13 FEB 2019 Harry Maguire remains in no doubt that Leicester City are a club on the rise. City are stuttering in the bottom half after picking up just four points from a possible 18 in 2019, while they have also been knocked out of the FA Cup. But their performances have impressed, they have one of the youngest squads in the Premier League and off the field a new £100m state-of-the-art training ground is being built and a stadium expansion is planned. That all adds up to a club that is heading in the right direction. “It’s a great club, a club that’s on a ladder and still rising,” Maguire told the Sunday Times. “I still feel it can go places. “I see it as a Leicester that, four years ago, were trying to stay in the Premier League. Where now I feel we’re totally different to that. We’re pushing for a top-half finish but there’s still a level we can go, that we can really hit. “We can aim for the top eight, the top seven, and then obviously we’ve got to start being competitive in cup competitions as well. Start getting to finals and maybe win some silverware – I think that’s where we have to aim.” After rising from League One star to World Cup quarter-finalist in four years, Maguire is ambitious to keep climbing. But, he remains loyal, as last summer’s interest from Manchester United proved. “Leicester gave me a great platform to go and play at a World Cup. If it wasn’t for Leicester, maybe I wouldn’t have done that,” he said. “So repaying them is important. There was no doubt in my mind I was going to be loyal and start the season off with Leicester.” But can he achieve his aims at City? “Every young player wants to play at the top level,” he added. “At the moment I take everything step by step and concentrate game by game and see where it takes me. “Like I said, Leicester are a club on the up and we’ll see where they go and we’ll see where I go.” Certainly, Maguire’s immediate future is at the King Power Stadium, where there are 12 games left for City to clinch a top-half spot. Consistency is the key to getting there, believes the 25-year-old. “We’ve been too inconsistent,” Maguire said. “Our highs have been really high and our lows have not been good enough. “So when we’re playing against the teams we’re expected to beat at home and we’re not performing, you understand the fans not being happy. It’s something we need to work on.” https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/harry-maguire-remains-confident-leicester-2538073

And the big clubs know it.

mozartfox Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 Don’t rule out Chelskie as their defence is due a major over haul.

I'd be staggered if anybody offered £40m or more for him. I think you underestimate how much certain clubs will spend on hype without scouting (Man Utd).
les-tah Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 If Benkovic wasn't so injury prone id be more than happy with losing Maguire for 60 million...Howver Soyuncu might learn English and be fine.
KingsX Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 If Gareth Southgate had not decided England needed to feature ball playing CBs as key to both buildup and set pieces, would we even be having this conversation? A perfect window for Maguire’s considerable talents. Which LCFC is not. If we played a similar style, and didn’t count on inconsistent DMs as the main cover for the CBs, Harry might look as good as he did last summer. But we don’t. And you don’t change your playing style to showcase a player. In the right side, he would justify a high price tag IMO. Potentially more valuable to someone else than to us.

Certainly if we can finish 7th this year (not outside the realms of possibility) then he might be swayed... Perhaps wishful thinking, though.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 Goes to "big" club. Plays irregularly. Never plays for England again. But Harry knows what's best.
Countryfox Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 I think Chilwell will go before Maguire ... and that will be a bigger loss. Not many better in his position and the boy has still not reached his peak. He may not be desperate to leave but many a top club would take him in a heartbeat ... and we all know what happens when the big boys come calling ...

Arsenal wouldn't pay that much.

I think they may already have concluded some sort of deal on the QT and this will survive Mourinho's defenestration. Whilst I don't see us getting a Van Dijk sized fee he is still England's no.1 in that position and I wouldn't think the Club are minded to let him go cheaply. I am less convinced than some that we have a stellar line up of replacements, what I see is a bit of an injury prone Benkovic who has prospered in the Scottish league and the slightly surreal Soyuncu who apparently cannot communicate ( and doesnt appear to be utilised in any capacity) plus a bunch of kids.
5waller5 Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 He's England's first choice CB and you lot still have something negative to say about the bloke. There must be some phenomenally talented footballers on Foxestalk!!!!

Soyuncu's absence from the team has nothing to do with his inability to speak English. Evans and Maguire are the reason.

There are things he does exceptionally well, and there are other things he needs to work on. You don't need to be a professional footballer at the top level to discuss someone's failings and how they can improve. If you did, plenty of top-level managers would be out of a job.

No. He was actually carrying an achilles injury when he signed for the club and it had troubled him previously and kept him on the sidelines. the latest one follows the hoo ha that blew up over an injury when they lost to rangers at the turn of the year.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 13 February 2019 Posted 13 February 2019 If both the disgruntled and the players destined for bigger and better things are approached + sold that'd pay for the training ground and a long way to extending the ground. It will be a test. The players are on a journey and none will finish their careers here inc Vardy potentially in the current climate. Seems bleak but I don't think the club will stand in players way as with Mahrez.
