Leicester on Talksport

Indicative of much modern journalism and punditry, where by people are judged on the interaction and reach they create (good or bad doesn't matter). Savage, Merson, Sutton, Mills, Durham and the like offer absolutely nothing in terms of decent analysis or comment.

All radio stations do, such as talksport and 5 live, is get someone to say something provocative to wind people up and then get people phoning in. Robbie Savage has made a media career out of doing it.

no he just continued the career he already had on the pitch....winding people up

There are some good parts. I like Danny Kelly and his European show is good and insightful.

Simon Jordan offers a great insight on what it's like to be the chairman/owners. It's a shame they hire too many shock jocks.

Goldstein and Cundy literally take it in turns to be the twat.

Sol Bamba has been on Sky Sports recently, particularly on a Monday morning at 10.00am for a couple of hours. Comes over really well in his analysis - nice to have a current PL player instead of some ‘has been’

I think if you listen to the wind up merchants and take them as just that it’s entertaining listening to other teams fans phoning in to go mad.

Fans of every club think [insert name of newspaper/radio station/TV programme/commentator/pundit] is biased against their team.

It's bolllox but all fans seem to think there's an agenda against them.

Talksport hosts do their job well. They talk bollocks about something hoping the team's fans call their 13p a minute line hoping to get on and argue with them, like it makes a difference. They must make a fortune out of it, combined with those shite adverts.

I listen to talksport quite a lot in the car, the presenters don't bother me at all and I can find it amusing at times.

But I had an interview for a job at talksport about 2 years ago and they still haven't got back to me so **** them.

Fans of every club also think every club but their own is deluded, entitled, w@nkers, cheats  and scum lol.

I'm currently about £196 in Wickes vouchers up on Jim White, then

Those competitions will make them a fortune too. Paid advertising from Wickes who also provide the prize, plus hundreds of people phoning up and being on hold hoping to play.

But my personal favourite is "Game changing moments with Barclays", whereby they talk for about 10 seconds, usually pretty incoherently. Money well spent on that sponsorship.

-Now its time for our game changing moments sponsored by Barclays.

-errrr Gray getting subbed on and then scoring the winner

-And that was our game changing moment thanks to Barclays.

I reckon you probably haven’t got that job, but maybe email them just in case.

Three pages in and no one knows, cos no one listened, not even @UpTheLeagueFox

Unless that very intelligent and well researched non-agenda bloke Geoff Peters fella is talking about Leicester on talkSPORT, I tend to mentally switch off lol

Simon Jordan for me is head and shoulders above all the rest IMO, with the exception of our very own @UpTheLeagueFox of course!

Rather than just trotting out the normal nonsense that most of the pundits do, Jordan is interesting, insightful and forthright.

I quite like Danny Higginbotham too.

I have to agree with all of that. Danny Kelly's European show is brilliant in my opinion.

I also like when Luke Moore from The Football Ramble pops up and Max and Barry are decent on the weekends, along with Georgie Bingham and Tony Cascarino.

The two Mikes are kind of endearing but just chat nonsense for the duration of their show so I usually avoid it.

The only two that really do my head in are Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy. Both of them are just awful to listen to.

It veers from the excellent to the abominable. I cannot stand the click-bait style of creating views to get people irate and ringing in- considered views and well-researched debate will achieve that as well.

It's here to stay because there is a demand for it but I tend to stay well clear of the phone-in based shows and Sky Sports News radio with Jim White. H and J and Danny Kelly are more than enough.

Couldn’t agree more, and when they ring in football talk shows to moan that they don’t get enough credit from said station/media outlet, they are the most boring calls ever that shouldn’t get airtime.

While I’m at, those fans who ring in radio stations complaining about pundits predicting their team for relegation at the start of a season, get a life, it’s a prediction. Nothing more.

Rant over lol

I rarely listen these days but I do enjoy the match day live programme on Saturday's.

The adverts can grate mind, but that's commercial radio for you.

I listen to a lot of Talk Radio, it's like Talksport but about Brexit.

I don't know if he's a regular on there because I don't listen to it but David Connolly was excellent during the world cup

Stopped listening to talksport after Colin Murray left. Used to like his show. Guys like Adrian Durham and Jason Cundy are living the dream though, paid handsomely to wind people up with their "views and opinions" and Alan Brazil who turns up for work each morning with a raging hangover and is finished work just in time for when the pub opens every day. He also gets the occasional paid jolly too. Must be great to work for talksport

To be honest, I cannot abide listening to people like Durham and Brazil especially.  Radio catering for people who want to have an ill informed argument.
