IF ...   (and it’s a big if :)) ...   he does go ...   who do we want  ??   Tarkowski, Dunk, Manure cast off ..   no one ?? ... perhaps we need a separate thread for this with vote attached ..

If a swap deal was involved, alongside a fee, wouldn't been keen on any of Jones, Rojo or Smalling.

All appear to be liabilities in their performances at times and rash in their tackles.

Agreed. If we do a swap deal we should ask for one of their youngsters such as Tuanzebe or Angel Gomes.

Smalling, Man Utd’s defenders ain’t as bad as people make out it’s their style of play that’s all wrong. They’d be better off forgetting about maguire, keeping pogba and putting a 150 million quid bid in for kante, that’s the position where their defensive failures occur. They’re too reliant on playing a high line which exposes any centre back, unless you’ve got someone like usain bolt. If maguire goes there he won’t do any better than their current defenders.

Great article talking about Maguire’s pros and cons, and United’s transfer policy.

First paragraph is a cracker.

An unusually good article from a football journalist.  His querying whether United's coaching credentials gels with their new transfer strategy is insightful.  I also wonder whether they will have the patience that such a strategy demands, given their habitual demand for instant success. His last point about weakening rivals is also spot on.

I think this will be very quiet while we're away in France.

Sky will whip things up again when we get back, they're desperate for this to happen and I'm loving the fact we're not dancing to their tune :celebrate:

£90m to weaken a rival for a top 6 finish. That’s an expensive tour of Eastern Europe.

The irony being it would probably strengthen us as we'd go out and get a worldy winger (hopefully).
