West Ham and Cov are decent examples as they are a very traditional clubs. Traditionally shit. In fact, the other two aren’t clubs I’d like to compare us to either. We’ve had gold knocking around us since our link with Thailand and for me, it is a sign of change and improvement. Exactly. People need to get over this s***. If the owners want to have a little bit of gold in our kit to link us back to Thailand then so be it - I think we owe them that little indulgence. It’s not exactly a Vincent Tan mk.II is it?!

But ffs....blue and white, blue and white, blue and white....our facking colours are blue and white Newcastle are not black and gold. West ham not claret, blue and gold. Arsenal not red and gold. Cov not sky blue and gold. Why are we a club that seems to ignore tradition? West Ham, Newcastle and Arsenal have definitely had gold trim on their kits at some points so I’m not sure what this argument is.
Nick Posted 5 May 2019 Posted 5 May 2019 I’M OUTRAGED BY GOLD. Hang on, no I’m not, I actually have just remembered I don’t give a shit.
LinekersApples Posted 5 May 2019 Posted 5 May 2019 Just saw this on the website, but they took it down quickly. Probably from a previous launch idea? I guess it goes someway to explaining a few of the design choices, which I imagine were initially made when CP was at the helm?
RonnieTodger Posted 5 May 2019 Posted 5 May 2019 Love the checkered pattern but the gold ruins it. Makes it look cheap and tacky.

FoxInTheBoxes Posted 5 May 2019 Posted 5 May 2019 Has anyone checked if the home kit is template? I don’t think it is.
nepa fox Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 If the family want to put their little touches to "their" kits. They have certainly earned the right. Quit your bitchin. They look good.

They look good. ‘Their Kits’ No it’s not. We were here before and will be here long after they decide to sell us and move on. Don’t let it be forgotten fans are the most important part of any club, never ever the owner/owners.
Finnegan Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Waiting for the official announcement where they say something like they brought the gold back to honour Vichai and all the folk that have been crying about it go in to meltdown tripping over themselves to back track. This club has taken now almost literally everything from that family. If they want a bit of lucky gold on the kit, who ****ing cares? It's three brand stripes. You don't like it aesthetically? Your choice, fair play, everyone's different. You know that sponsorless anniversary kit everyone spuffs over or the one with the turquoise sash? Let you in on a secret, I think they both looked absolutely shit. But you don't like it out of some sort of principle because BuT wErE bLuE aNd WhItE herp derp derp then do just bore off. It's a one year cycle, mass produced, sweatshop sewn football kit. If the colours of the brand logo on it are the bedrock of your club's culture, I hate to break it to you, but your club doesn't have a culture.
Wakeyfox Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 It's gonna become as iconic as the Croatian kit when we win the league in it next season.

The home kit had a touch of Sunday League about it and the away one was okay at best. A great idea, poorly executed.

StanSP Posted 6 May 2019 Author Posted 6 May 2019 Launch Fest sounds cheesy. Wonder how many pre-orders they'll allow for. Good that you get discounts though already.

wardyfox86 Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 If you don't like it, wear last year's kit. I promise I won't judge. It's blue... blue.
Koke Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Last night we looked like Chelsea from 3 years ago. Blue blue white with adidas.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Very weird it's a "shirt launch" not a "kit launch". Badly needs white shorts imo.

LinekersApples Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Can’t believe they’ve gone for jeans this season. Fashion over ambition once again.
