Guest Electric Yetis Posted 21 August 2019 Posted 21 August 2019 Sky seem to be talking about a different player. Seems he had a great time in Turkey.

moore_94 Posted 21 August 2019 Posted 21 August 2019 Monaco have an option to buy, probably between £5-10m
fuchsntf Posted 21 August 2019 Posted 21 August 2019 So gets to go to Monaco...good luck to him.. have no Ill feelings,no Made up agendas or grudges....!!! some Posters just Love a Richter-scale whine and digging with H.V.E claws....
urban.spaceman Posted 21 August 2019 Posted 21 August 2019 Two years ago Monaco had Mbappe turning them into Champions. Now they’re hoping Slimani will help keep them up.
David Hankey Posted 21 August 2019 Posted 21 August 2019 I know it's not the player's fault but buying him at £29M was not good buy. He was never worth that amount and the history books will show that Club bought a pup.

The club was very keen to sign him & if i remember rightly it took two windows to get the deal done. We see how the value of a player drops with age & under performance. We do seem to have moved on & are focusing on younger players who have sell on value.

I posted solution above.

hackneyfox Posted 22 August 2019 Posted 22 August 2019 If he hadn't have scored against Porto how far would we have progressed in the CL? How much more did we earn by having an easier route and making the quarters rather than the last 16? Still glad he's gone but he hasn't just cost us money, he's helped bring some in as well.

Blue Ed Posted 22 August 2019 Posted 22 August 2019 Well I didn't think he was as bad as everyone makes out. The season we played him most following our championship season...none of our team were that good. Then didn't really fit in to the team or the system. Hope he does well at Monaco it'll be good to see him banging them in again
Guest Posted 22 August 2019 Posted 22 August 2019 I thought he was a good player and his goals per seem pretty decent for us. Personally wish him all the best and hope he does very well.
Lambert09 Posted 22 August 2019 Posted 22 August 2019 We all dream of a lump trio of Ben Yedder, Slimani and Gary Taylor-Fletcher... make it happen Monaco
An Away Move Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 Slimani was an upgrade on Ulloa. A proven scorer of headed goals, with more speed on the ground. It's not his fault that we played a system that didn't suit his game and he was never going to displace Vardy. He might have thrived under Puel who was getting people to whip balls in but with no one on the receiving end!

This may be slightly true.. but the truth is I will always prefer Ulloa all due to his attitude alone.

Slimani had a much smaller impact and rightly leaves with fans feeling indifference or worse hatred towards him. But you can't seriously believe Ulloa is a better footballer? We bought him from the championship and sold him to the Mexican league. Slimani was signed from Sporting Lisbon after scoring 31 goals in a season and departs for Monaco. He has scored 27 goals in just over 60 international appearances. He has played regularly and scored regularly in the champions League and Europa League. PS I fuching love Ulloa by the way. But in terms of footballing ability and talent they are streets apart.

Slimani could barely trap a ball or even jump for it half the time. Not sure why you're on about league/international comparisons either. How different is the Championship to the Portuguese league bar the big three? Ulloa is Argentinian so no chance he plays for them but I'd imagine he'd have started for Algeria 60 times just like Slim. When has Slimani scored regularly in the CL or EL? (I'm intrigued) and banging in 31 goals in Portgual doesn't say much for the standard of the league to be honest. Between Slimani and Cenk Tosun they're the worst PL forward transfers in about the last decade given the price tag. And Slim managed a single goal in Turkey last season
