We've got to get them all out for under 150 at the absolute most otherwise we've lost the ashes after 3 tests. I mean that's not exactly impossible. For all the panic here, without Smith, they're still a shambles themselves. Only two Aussies got any kind of score and Warner is capable of both a ton and going for none in the first over. This could swing ridiculously back all in a day.

Guest MattP Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 Only two of our batsmen stayed at the crease for more than 16 balls.

foxy boxing Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 England are pathetic, I don't care how good the Aussie bowling is. England cricket team is the very definition of the word batting collapse.

RowlattsFox Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 If you ask Wilson long enough, he will give it.

Bobby Hundreds Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 One of Khawaja, Head and Wade playing for their spot today with Marnus Labuschagne guaranteed to keep his spot.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 Unfortunately Australia have probably already got enough runs to win this match.

Big rethink and a new captain needed. 31 minutes ago, Izzy said: I've always hated em and admired them in equal measure. But at least we won the World Cup!

Serious question mate, would you rather win the World Cup or the Ashes? The WC win was great and all that, but I'd probably trade it to beat the Aussies in a five test series tbh.

It's a close call mate but I've seen us win the Ashes several times but never seen us win the WC until now. The WC win feels a bit hollow given our test match shambles but marginally on balance I think I'll take the WC over the Ashes this summer.
Mike Oxlong Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 England fans are looking like they’ve paid 100 quid to go to a funeral
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 Archer's giving Bairstow a good workout here.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 At least the bandwagon jumpers from the World Cup win can see what being a true England cricket fan is all about.
coolhandfox Posted 23 August 2019 Posted 23 August 2019 We seem to have the same problem with the Test side that we had with the ODI side a few years back. We use to shoehorn in the best test players in the ODI side, because they did well in test, when they clearly weren't one day players. We are now doing the same with the Test side, shoehorning in good ODI players.
