EastAnglianFox Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Hopeful the pitch hangs on again tomorrow, like Cook has said on TMS it's not even a proper 3rd day wicket with the overs lost on the first day its still playing like a day 2 pitch...yes I'm clutching
ScouseFox Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 them getting desperate and losing some horrific reviews is playing into our hands, too, considering how awful the umpiring has been
EastAnglianFox Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Blimey that Hazlewood is some bowler though, id almost like him if he wasn't Australian
martyn Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Denly looked all at sea last 20 mins. No surprise.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Huge sigh of relief from the ECB and Yorkshire, guaranteed a good chunk of play tomorrow, the game finishing today would of cost millions!
Corky Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Old cliche but I'd have taken that at the start of the day. As has been said, Test match cricket has finally been played. Still a chance, however slim.
TheSomersetFox Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 They've given me hope, so I fully expect it to be over before lunch. Can't wait to watch tomorrow unfold mind you
yorkie1999 Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Heard a funny comment by boycott, Lyon is struggling to take wickets because he hasn’t got starcs size 15 boots scuffing the wicket up.

Manwell Pablo Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 In contrast to my I don’t get why you were all so confident comment, I don’t get why a score of 360 is “it’s all but over” We expected this team, in ideal batting conditions, to put the Australians to the sword after bowling them out for 176 odd, in two days of batting. Surely that involved scoring more than 360 runs. its a huge score to chase on a last date innings but how often do you get three days to chase a final total. This batting lineup is suppose to have a lot of capable batsman in it, I appreciate they’ve totally failed to show that so far we literally only need a couple of batsman for to get a well over due decent knock and we’ve got every chance. Not saying we will win but surely we’ve got a reasonable chance.

No, it’s nothing to do with the number of counties, it’s the mentality of the modern player which is to blame, no ability to concentrate for long periods anymore. Id like an explanation to why cutting the Counties will produce a better England side, more counties means there is a larger pool of players playing, more opportunities for youngsters to play the game professionally, imagine only having 12 counties, Cricket would really become a minority sport. Agnew should know better spending his whole career at Leicester, would he of been picked up elsewhere? So short sighted. It'd be like blaming league one and league two clubs for the national team being poor. The county cricket system needs two 9 team divisions with 2 team promotion/relegation. 16 games per season. Start on Saturdays. All summer long with perhaps a July break for T20. A 50 over Benson and Hedges style one day competition which is played in May/June. A month long T20 Cup style tournament throughout mid July to mid August. It needs international players playing county cricket. It's not rocket science. The most successful sides of recent times (Essex/Worcs) would be the first to go if there was a reduction, how would that be fair?
Bert Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 I would’ve taken a 200 chase on a day 4.... we all thought it was gonna be done tonight. Hopefully one of the middle order can stay with Root. Aussies still favourites but only just.
Brainy Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 We're either going to win or get bowled out by lunch
EastAnglianFox Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 Why is he attempting that though in the situation of the game, just it in and bat sensibly ffs
ScouseFox Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 ben stokes 3 from 73 balls. mans trying to chase 360 odd just from extras. heroic.

Izzy Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 This is what crickets all about. Aussies steaming in, England fighting for their lives. The crowd cheering every single. Give me this over a ODI every time.
Md9 Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 These 2 get another 50 runs or so and the Aussies will start to get worried. Made a better go of it so far than i thought they would have
Finnegan Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 Think you're gonna win this tbh. Unless these two go cheaply fairly soon which doesn't look likely. Australia need to do something about this partnership quickly because they look confident and Australia look lost.
Izzy Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 I refuse to believe. I’ll post a picture of me eating my own excrement if we pull this off.
