Still expect more from the club captain and highest paid player.

We need leaders who speak up before it's all over.

Yeah, that's fair. and I also expected more from the captain too.

We used to have a team of leaders for about the past decade before this season.

Now there's a team of mercenaries and about 1 or 2 actual leaders in the group.

It means that we shouldn’t be relying on a 38 year old. Again it comes down to recruitment _

A smaller club riding the tightrope of psr can’t afford to carry passengers like Daka and have a decent number 2 striker when he is on 80k and the aging legend is commanding over 100k

Course we shouldn't and I haven't said anything to disagree with that? But it doesn't change the fact that Vardy, like every single other player who's played a fair amount this season, have to take a big portion of the blame for such awful performances

He’s clearly a legend but I can appreciate he’s been diabolical this season and shouldn’t be playing,

No other striker in our budget will have any impact, in this team. No through balls, no dynamic interplay.

If we play the right way, he is lethal. Still plenty left in Vardy.

You mean if we give him the ball in the 6 yard box?

He can’t even get away from people anymore as he doesn’t have the legs. We should never have gone into this season with him as our leading forward, that’s a failure on the club.

He himself however has to take some acknowledgement that he is a major part of our downfall. He’s been with us through the rise, he’s now at with us as we collapse.

People questioning this as AI? From a guy who killed a dog by feeding it beer, played football with a tag on and coined the phrase “chat shit get banged”?

He never killed a dog, that was a fabricated quote from his book 🤣

He's a club legend but that doesn't and shouldn't mean he can't be critiqued..hes been dog shit just like the rest of the team 💯 running around waving his hands can't hide that fact

No other team in the premier league would be relying on a near on 40 year old as the main striker

It's was suicide from start to finish

Well not that it changes anything but hope the real duffers like farce, vestercrap, coady, Ward etc man up and say they have been extra shite this season and apologize too

In the words of that noted Fox Andrea Bocelli, it's "time to say goodbye".

Some Championship clubs pay their entire squads less than we pay Vardy.

At a time when we desperately need to cut costs, it makes no sense to fork out more millions on a striker who can no longer score.

Thanks, very nice of you to say so.

So you think he's done a good job as captain this season do you? How has his leadership been good? RVN is useless but it's still on the players to go out and perform at the end of the day and he, like everyone else, hasn't done. He's going to be captain of the worst top flight team in this club's history after being vice captain of the most expensive team ever to be relegated. Numerous times it's come out that he has gone behind a manager's back. Hardly the signs of great leadership qualities are they?

You'll notice that I said the service has given him little chance to score, or just choose to ignore that part?

As for being overplayed, that doesn't excuse his performances does it? With all the sports science, he'd not have been made available for selection, of if he really was struggling, he should have put his hand up and asked for sit out a game. Weird idea that he's been playing against his will. We've got an extra 8 games next year so being a year older how is he magically fit enough to do that. He's not going to want to play second fiddle to a championship striker next year is he?

As I said in my reply to others above, you, and many others are so emotional about him that there can be no discussion about him.

I love him just as much as you and he's our greatest ever player and nothing will change that but doesn't change the fact he's been a key part of 2 utterly embarrassing relegations.

I agree. Interesting that now we are relegated he comes out with these comments. What about weeks ago? Leaders are proactive not reactive.

Just as much to blame for this season as any other player whos wore the shirt.

Statement means fck all now the damage is done.

Has played like a player whos picking up a pay cheque and waiting to retire - which pains me to say about a legend.

Haven't seen any more effort or passion from him than I have Soumare.

Come on. That's just offensive lol

I can imagine he'll stick around and try and put this right. For better or possibly for worse now.

Outside of the country? Probably a smart enough move TBF.

The problem with JV is he's meant to be a Leader, he's clearly struggled on the pitch, he can see there is a huge disconnect towards the fans.
So where was he in his leadership role? If any single player was needed to put themselves forward every week to be doing post match interviews, going on these silly podcasts, putting themselves in the match day program, posting interviews on social media accounts trying to rally us together it was Jamie, I've hardly heard a sniff from him all season. I'm certain his statement is genuine, but it's not a difficult thing to post it's just stating the obvious.

We need to part ways, sadly.

I am in two minds when it comes to JV being at the club next season. Not that I think he should but more what are the clubs options?

Like most  I cant see much sense relying on a near 40 year old but I genuinely believe that the club has painted itself into a very small corner where options are becoming even more limited.

Of course the 24/25  financial numbers aren’t yet complete but in a way those numbers, even though boosted by TV monies probably will mean there won’t be much income that will be available to sign near players . Funds  from transfers out  will be small indeed the acceleration of KDHs money into 23/24 to put a band aid on that set of accounts means that somehow before the end of the accounting year transfer income needs to be generated at best to stand still but who honestly has put themselves into the shop window?

The point I am trying to make is that there simply won’t be much money available to get new players in and whilst there is no way that JV will be offered  top money but even though his ability is declining at apace ( forgive the pun) who is available at the sort of money that LCFC will be offering?

So my guess the ball will be every much in JV court.

I think a lot of players who play in that league fly in from neighbouring countries, I’m sure I heard someone say this on a podcast.

Bit of service in the championship and he will score goals. Shouldn’t be first choice but happy for him to stay.

7 goals in the PL actually not a bad return considering how bad we’ve been lol

Completely misused this season, not a starting Premier League striker anymore; still reckon he could stay on a reduced salary.
