Against him is the loss of Rondon and Perez and the number of goals they produced. The fact Ashley doesn't want to pump money in means they may struggle to get recruits in, with Dwight Gayle looking like their main striker. It's a poisoned chalice. You are right They are not going to spend, in 12 years of Mike Ashley ownership they have a £4.6 million net spend on transfers

Very odd choice for an English player to leave the PL comfort zone, but good on him personally. I think more English players should seek a move abroad. Hope he does well down there. Problem is Ashley won't sell when they are at a low point because he won't make enough money. But when they are at a high point he's asking too much for anyone to be genuinely interested. The Bear Posted 17 July 2019 Share Posted 17 July 2019 (edited) Finished 4-0. They added an OG from a corner. We bought on Tessa Sanderson's nephew Dion at RWB. So that’s a start. They might click, fair enough if they do, but for years now they’ve been run by idiots and their transfer policy has been scattergun at best. I’ll reserve judgement on their ‘amazing’ window and won’t apologise for taking Everton (who showed serious form at the back end of last season) and Wolves more seriously. The Bear Posted 17 July 2019 Share Posted 17 July 2019 For all West Ham's good business so far, they haven't bought any defenders and still look quite dodgy at the back.
Bayfox Posted 17 July 2019 Share Posted 17 July 2019 Did man city buy this right back, back having sold him once. West ham have given him a torrid time. He could be gone again at this rate West ham unlucky not to have had a 2nd pen to make it 2 nil but since then and especially since half time and sterling having come on they luck like conceding everytime man city go forward.
