What's he on about? He played regularly whilst Schmeichel was injured, but looked awkward whenever he needed to make a save you could tell he was done. Luckily for us Schmeichel came for the run in and the great escape happened

Tielemans recovered from his 'cantbearseditus' and scoring for Belgium against England.

You have a short memory. Against Fulham last January he pretty much ran the game, hit the crossbar, did all he could to lift us.

With the talent at his disposal the so called elite manager we had at the time utterly ****ed everything up. We became a total shambles.

Fully agree with the BIB.

Tielemans needed to be at that level for the other 37 games though, which he certainly wasn't.

Tielemans looks a Stone lighter.

Its really criminal that we got nothing for him other than a year of him running down his contract at Greggs

We probably would have gotten more if he wasn't a fat lazy **** in the last season for us.

We’d have got more if we’d sold him!

He clearly wasn’t motivated in that last season, piled on the pudding and left for free.

I’m not even sure who to be more mad at - Rodgers or Rudkin for letting it happen

Do we actually know if anyone wanted/bod for him in that time?

He always alluded to the fact he wanted to go to a "top 6" club, but I doubt any of them would have wanted him.

They couldn't make him go could they! If Tielemans decided he wanted to see out his contract then they're stuffed. He probably believed that by doing so, he'd be a more attractive prospect for a big club and in the process, get higher wages and a big fat signing on fee because the club didn't have to shell out on a huge transfer fee.

Logically he was right too. Unfortunately, any big club watching his final season performances would have seen a midfielder lacking in effort, drive and constantly giving the ball away whilst puffing and panting like a fat girl. The best he could get in the end was a decent Villa side where he's well short of being a regular. However, that probably doesn't bother him too much as long as he's pulling a good wage.

You can't sell someone who refuses to go or who nobody wants.

Tielemans did it on Tuesday night, but who was the first Belgian international to score against England after leaving Leicester?

That was Honore Vlamynck:

Born in 1897, he was wounded while defending his homeland from the Germans and came to England to have those wounds treated - arriving in Leicester in late 1914. In 1918 he played four games for Leicester Fosse in the wartime Football League (Midland section), scoring three goals.

The Leicester newspapers were having trouble with his name. This was the Leicester Evening Mail on November 2nd:

The Leicester Daily Post two days later was getting a little closer:

Then the same paper three days after that:

The Nottingham press were having similar trouble:

As you can see from that report, he was turning out for the Belgian Army as well as playing for Fosse.

He returned to Belgium to play for Daring Club Molenbeek, winning the title with them in 1921. Then in March 1923 came that goal against England - a consolation for Belgium in a 6-1 defeat at Highbury.

You can read more about him here:
