Corky Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Would've liked a better performance but getting through was all important. You don't want to be the story on nights like this.
Izzy Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Enjoyed that, decent game. Thought Hamza played well and Barnes looked great when he came on. Albrighton busy but wasteful. Gray continues to frustrate. He’s close to being a decent player but how long have we been saying that? Good run out for the fringe players and on we march.
Happy Fox Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 There goalkeeper (on loan from Manchester United) was very decent.
trabuch Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 We started very well. And ended very well. Sloppy in the middle. We won and there weren't any injuries - so mustn't grumble. Anyone but Man City in the draw.
oxtonfox Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 A home draw would make a nice change, don't really care who it's against, we should win.
Vacamion Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 I didn’t think Marc A was as bad as some are suggesting. He injected energy and had some juicy chances 2nd half.
Jonezy Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Imagine if Gray had a consistent end product....
The whole world smiles Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Credit to Burton. Played a full strength side and made a proper cup tie of it in the 2nd half. We were just that little bit too good for them though.
RowlattsFox Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Made it hard for ourselves but good to get a reminder that it's not always so easy so soon after Friday. Shows how clinical we were against Southampton as we were very wasteful tonight. Job done though and another win.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 I'd like Oxford too. At home as well. Please, please, not Man City or Everton.

Heavily involved in 2 of the goals tonight
Ric Flair Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Albrighton's end product was abysmal today, I wonder if he's losing confidence due to barely playing.

We created alot of chances and their keeper made some good stops, but we allowed them far too many chances as well. Without the Ward save and the Choudhury clearance off the line, could have been very different. Our passing and defending was dreadful at times. I wouldn’t say they were clear chances... they had that chance when their right winger blazed over from a tight angle and a good save by Ward but we were defo good and should have had 5-6 goals if our wingers were more clinical.

Could have done better with his one on ones but Tbf to their keeper he made it difficult and pulled of a few good saves. Liked how he was so aware and quick off his line on a few occasions too

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Also Ward had a nightmare on their goal. Straight through his hands. Was well hit but should have done much better. Great save from the half volley later on though made up for it a little.
