In which time he may have gotten his move to Man Utd. I'd have understood this but he's still on the bench? Is he injured or isn't he? Southgate's definitely got something against him for some reason.

That's genuinely hilarious. Maddison is in great form, and has been for the whole season and much of the end of last season. You'd say in our midfield he's in the best and most consistent form currently. His team selections genuinely baffle me. You could argue his selections in basically every position

Unlike Mason Mount, of course, who leapfrogged Maddison in the pecking order thanks to half-a-dozen good games for Chelsea.

Tuna Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 Southgate will learn nothing about Maddison if he does not give him a chance to effect the game from the start. No compelling reason why you don't give him (and others) a start in this one, this game is meaningless.
Sunbury Fox Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 A midfield double act of Winks and Rice. This is going to be fun.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 I think Southgate is stubborn. If someone says a player should play then he'll resist. He doesn't like to be perceived as not being in control.

Exactly. Why is nobody in the media picking up on this inconsistency of approach?

SheppyFox Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 It’s a bonus that our players are shunned by this crap England setup. No chance of injury and it further instils the siege mentality that the big clubs are unfairly pitted against us to keep us down.

spacemunky Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 I predict Mings will do something stupid, sparking an international incident between the two countries.

st albans fox Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 don’t want to see madders on if he isn’t fit enough to play 90 mins ...... that’s not going to be good for us ahead of a tough six weeks
oxtonfox Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 Sterling looks off the pace or on the sauce; not sure which.
Plastik Man Posted 17 November 2019 Posted 17 November 2019 Another tactical masterclass from Southgate. I've nothing against Winks but the fact he's wearing the 10 shirt says it all.
