justfoxes Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 As we host Everton next weekend with what could be Marco Silvas last game in charge unless they have had enough by the weekend? Here’s one for the statisticians on the Forum, what I can remember the last manager that was sacked following a defeat at the Hands of Leicester was José Mourinho at Chelsea ? Now I’m not known for many stats but with Silva coming next weekend with a possibility of losing his role can any stat machine out there name any other managers that were sacked following a defeat v Leicester ?
majaco Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 Weren't Monk and Mourinho sacked in subsequent weekends?
Aus Fox Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 I’m sure in our title winning season there was at least 2 possibly 3.
Corky Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 Silva left Watford after we beat them 2-0 in January 2018.

Vacamion Posted 24 November 2019 Posted 24 November 2019 It's possible that Silva, Emery and Solskjaer will be on their bikes, soon. You would imagine that their clubs will throw money at the right candidate. We really need to hide Brendan.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 24 November 2019 Posted 24 November 2019 Pellegrini, Silva and Emery next for me. On a side note, when I lost my stream yesterday, I put on the Arsenal game. Emery looked broken when Southampton scored the second. MOTD only showed a glimpse of his face last night, it was quite telling if you saw it live. I genuinely felt sorry for him.

West Ham are in a very tricky situation with Pellegrini because he's on 9m a year salary. That means if they sack him it's going to cost 18m to terminate his contract, with probably another 2m for his coaching team, plus they then have to likely pay compensation to bring in another coach from somewhere else. So they are in a place where they want to sack him, but can't afford to which could end in massive trouble. I find it very surprising as they have lots of great players, and Pellegrini I rate as a coach and wanted him to come here instead of Puel. So is it a case of him having lost the dressing room, or is it the players and lack of leaders? I'm honestly not sure. Silva and Emery are dead men walking though for sure, and I think Spurs hired Mourinho so quickly because they realised that both of those clubs will make a change soon and might have got him instead. Everton would have been more of a stretch, but their owner can afford his salary. Now you have Arsenal in a position where their next manager is not so clear and I think they are more likely to give it to Ljungberg on an interim basis and hire someone else in the summer. All of this is great news for us! It's pretty hilarious to see how badly some of these clubs are run despite their massive commercial revenues. It has opened the door for the likes of us and Wolves for sure.

A new manager would have them picking up points in no time.

If that's true. 1 why did they agree to pay him so much, and 2nd I'm afraid getting relegated which right now they could well sleep walk into, costs a whole lot more. Relegation could almost kill west ham, their fans were sold down the river with the move to the Olympic park, it's a terrible football ground and attendance could fall through the floor if they go down. It seems a lot of them are really fed up with it all. If he even lasts till Christmas I'd be happy as I reckon we can dismantle them. As for the other 2. Silva is close to the edge and I'm surprised Emery hasn't gone already. They are now a worse side than any of Wenger's last decade.

His CV includes managing Real Madrid, Argentina and Man City and he won the league with the latter.

Still doesn't make him a top manager, I'd argue the season with malaga is a highlight, but then they were throwing so much money about st the time, very much like a real.or man city. And China well we know the money that they throw about. Hate to say it but I agree with big Sam. He cant set up a side to defend.

If he was a top manager he would either not be at West Ham or doing much better than he has. He's been there over a year now and was backed with a club record signing in the summer too. In fact for as much as the West Ham fans hate the Dildo brothers (and for good reason given the stadium move), they've actually tried to bring in a big name manager and backed him, but it hasn't paid off.

If so, what an odd reaction

Haller looked awful yesterday. Not that I watch him week in week out. Thought Antonio was great for 45 mins but Haller offered nothing. Maybe he's young and theres more to come, but for the amount of money you'd expect more. Anyone watching utd right now will also be wondering how long OGS has left as well. Especially with poch on the market.
Fox1970 Posted 24 November 2019 Posted 24 November 2019 So that's the managers at Arsenal, Everton, Watford, West Ham and Manchester United all in big trouble. It's not beyond the bounds of possibiity that they'll all be gone by Christmas, especially with Arsenal and Man Utd in the market for the Poch. And of course, even LCFC's Brendan might well be tempted back to the Scottish powerhouse to take up the massive job at Brechin City.
