Watching Match of the Day confirmed what I thought. Kel was heavily involved in just about every positive attack we put together. Playing on his own upfront to disprove another one of the theories about him.

 

Please stop with the nonsense about him being an enigma or that he can’t play on his own or any of the other crap. He’s a top quality player. 
 

im sure at some point his form will dip for a spell (like we have seen with all top class players - Vardy, Ndidi, Madders, Youri) and I’m sure those with an agenda will jump on it and say he’s ‘honking’ or whatever phrase they choose. I’d just urge you to look at the stats, look at his performances for the last three seasons and just judge him on that.

 

The fact that MOTD did a piece on how well he played - on his own upfront at Old Trafford - we should be on here raving about him. Instead some of us are having to defend him against people who carry on with this ridiculous effort to convince themselves they were right all along.

I have said it before and I will say it again , his unpredictability is his greatest weapon. He is always likely to to do the unexpected and defenders must hate him.

The man's hold-up play is sublime at times. I can't help but feel if he and Daka were given a decent run of games together, his hold up play with Patson's speed would pay dividends. Of course that would mean a complete change of system and I don't think we will/possibly should do that. It's an enticing thought though.

no player is perfect, every striker is going to miss chances look at Vardy sometimes he misses some sitters.

Oh yeah I'm not having a go at him at all. He just does some really bizarre things at times and I'd just love to know what he's thinking. 

He's become the player I was really excited we'd signed at the time

 yea I know what you mean! it wasn't aimed at you just in general when people go nuts for him missing a chance like he is going to score everytime.

It might be worth trialling before the end of the season? These remaining games should be used to experiment with tactics and lineups imo

Yet time after time, despite all that, he still manages to get the ball in the oppositions net, how unfortunate for you!

 

A player can do as many step overs as you want, he can have the ultimate in ball control and be very silky of movement and pleasing on the eye of the most avid connoisseur of football but  ... if the ball doesn't go in that net, its absolutely pointless.

 

Football has numerous such examples of show pony's who look great and promise the world, yet they just can't score.

 

Despite all you say, Nacho was our top goalscorer last year having only played about half a season, yet he still managed it. Despite only having cameo appearances this year and not a regular start to afford him rhythm, despite looking a bit clumsy at times as you suggest, bugger me, he did it again yesterday and it was a well taken goal as well. He'd been even better with a strike partner but Rodgers refuses to do that. Alternatively we could sell him and spend 30m+ on another Perez who, as many offer up, appears to have certain close skills and ability in abundance. Sadly though, such silky skills don't actually produce an end product after numerous appearances over long periods of time. 

 

Iheanacho will do me fine. Give him the right service in the right area, play to his strengths rather than feed him on scraps and he'll score you a bundle of goals. It's goals that win games.

He needs to play alongside someone up front. Same with Daka. Neither can play the lone striker. Really hope we don’t sell Nacho in the summer. Can see him doing well elsewhere with the right system.

Going to go against the grain a bit here but I thought his hold up was pretty poor yesterday, there were some shocking touches here and there but he has a knack of producing something brilliant out of nothing and doing that on a regular basis. His record speaks for itself. I think he absolutely merits his place in the side on that basis. I do think he was quite poor at times yesterday but ultimately he's the one who got us the goal and he also should have had an assist to his name.

I swear some on here would prefer a scrawny kid playing in the French 2nd division to a now completely proven premiership striker which is totally bizarre. He is always a threat even if he spends part of the match tripping over his own bootlaces.

He and Amartey for me are classic examples of why they are at Leicester and not higher. Both capable of sublime/effective stuff for their respected position but equally culpable for some pretty average stuff as well all too often. Frustrating yes but enough there to suggest they can contribute to the club. Question is both are replaceable it's whether we can find the consistent quality above.

I thought he was excellent yesterday. He tormented Utd the whole game and fully deserved his goal. Yes a few errors also, but the more he plays the better he will get.

He virtually scores a goal every game he plays.

It's a ruse, I'm sure of it. He deliberately plays in clown feet most of the time to lull the opposition into thinking they needn't bother with him... then he does something special.

 

I'm at a loss to know what to think in honesty. The stats speak loudly but it's hard to equate those stats with the player we see for most of the game. Honestly, he can look clueless! I mean seriously clueless; a 5 year old on the local rec ground, all energy and enthusiasm but no idea.

 

Perhaps the key for him is not to think, just to play on instinct. I dunno, nobody can be that jammie surely? He manages to score and assist but it seems almost contradictory.

With a bit more consistency he could be a top striker. He could easily score 20-25 goals + more a season.
