Being called an enigma is no bad thing and is certainly not a criticism. Personally, I think it kinda endearing. I might shake my head at a Nacho miscontrol or offside but I'm laughing at the same time. It's impossible to not like the guy. It can go in off his backside (and has hasn't it?) for all I care, he gets goals and that's why he's there.

That said, if we get a decent offer for him I reckon we'd let him go... now would we get that offer? ;)

The question is, for the money we got, who could we currently get with the same goal and assists to games ratio. Particularly if they're not given a consistent run in the side or just the odd 20 minutes.

I think nacho knows this, he certainly doesn't lack the confidence in games that he used to, let's face it Vardy missed a header today that he should have scored. He's a great player that would be even better with an extra yard of pace

Or if his right was for anything more than standing on.

Thought he’d turned a corner with that when he bagged his hat trick but seemingly just used up his right foot quota. Mind you if he had 2 feet he’d probably have stayed in Manchester.

Apparently half our squad including Kelechi is not good enough for us but are plenty good enough for other teams. Well if they can't hack it with us they are not going to do it with any other top flight team. Their value then is pretty small so if we want to replace them with better players we have to be thinking of spending about £200 million net. Ridiculous? Of course it is. We are not Man. City. Are we getting the best out of our current squad? No, they can and have done better. Its been a messy , uneven season but with a couple of quality additions , and I don't mean 19 y.o. wannabes , we should be more consistent next season. We must not sell Kelechi , a replacement would be extremely expensive.

Agree, however one aspect of his mentality is really strong - he can sit out of the XI for periods, and still deliver even when lacking game time.

I'd love to see how his concentration and touch might improve if he was given a decent run but in the circumstances it isn't likely to happen.

We're lucky we have him.

it did

Did anyone see him beat his chest over the club badge last night at FT. Dunno why but seeing how much it meant to him that they couldn't do it for us almost set me off. Love him.

Really hope we keep him in the summer tbh.

I know you lot ****ing love this guy but his actual contribution to the TEAM is honking. He’s erratic and breaks us down in key moments with stupid decisions. I’d rather our support striker is a big ****er who can change our dimension. Sell this guy on a highlight reel that doesn’t include his gaffes please.

4 goals 5 assists in 1000 minutes in the league this season, our top scorer last season, scored a vital second goal vs rennes, should have gotten multiply assists over both games against PSV if it wasnt for the poor finishing of barnes and daka. I genuinely dont see how our fans are writing this guy off at all, he delivers for us almost every time he plays, one of the biggest disparities between end product and how much the fans rate him ive ever seen.

Would you be happy with him starting up front every game next season then as a lone striker?  Brendans only going to play one.

playig with a lone striker requires midfielders to be creating chances and scoring goals, that'd be Barnes, Maddison, KDH and Lookman, and between them they're just not offering enough

It's one of those where, in the right system he'd be incredible. If we're able to buy a combative RW, he'd be able to drop slightly in and feed both/Maddison or shoot from deeper.

Him and Maddison flowing through the edge of the box would be difficult to mark, especially with wingers and attacking fullbacks

I thought he was excellent when he came on last night. He only got one decent chance when he tried to curl the ball into the goal but straight into the keepers hands.

But his general play, positioning etc I thought he was excellent.

I still think with a big mobile CF he'd get double figures every season.

This is a solid assessment.

He needs to be built around but the question is whether or not he's the man WE build around.

Not even necessarily built around. Currently we are set up for Vardy, but when he's injured we don't fully change to suit others, and it's time we started to do so

Although when he came on, he does what is obviously natural to him, and dropped more into the number 10 midfield area, which meant that maddison spent even more time out wide, where he is no where near as creative or dangerous, and also meant that we never were playing with 2 up front, which I assumed was the idea of the formation change at half time.
