What a result for England after not playing well. Woakes did fantastically with Buttler to get that win today. Pakistan must be kicking themselves as to how they've not capitalised on it.

But "they" did Play well..!!!  The game has many  sides!!

Englands bowlers took 20 wickets, individual Batsman had Good games,we didnt rely heavily just on Stokes....

Players who Made mistakes, came Good where it mattered. Has a spectator the twist & turns were magnificent....Top 10 Chase in International cricket....

Today it seems too many are quick to bring out the "but" After being totally entertained....The cynics cloak is always the easiet to carry & wear....

I have been alternately watching and listening to this all day and following it whilst working during the week.

I spent this afternoon stripping wallpaper and sweating buckets with TMS on the radio, and I'm now sitting watching it with a coldie.

It's been bloody brilliant.

Gotta love the cricket.  :scarf:

TMS is brilliant when you can't watch. I was glued to the screen with a couple of beers and it was great to watch. For a test side with so many average performances we sure do pull it out of the hat when it's needed :D

Superb victory considering the situation.

Buttler is a long way from being the best gloveman in England contention, but he's gone at least some way towards justifying his place here.

What a great test match, I absolutely love this Pakistani team, they're going to be a serious force for years to come with all of the young talent.

Delighted for Buttler although the jury is still out and then with Woakes proving himself once again as a very underrated all rounder. I think we have the makings of a good test team again. Still not sure about the captaincy but then there's no other options really.

It will be interesting to see what team they put out for the second test at Southampton on Thursday, keep it simple and just put Crawley in or fresh the team? Personally i'd like to see Dan Lawerence in at 3 (Think Crawley has been called to the team to soon) then Archer & Anderson rested with Curran & Wood brought in. Also would prefer to see Leach or Bess as i think he bowls are more aggressive line.

Two catches down in the slips already..

The fielding has been inadequate for a time now, not acceptable at this level.

Our slip fielding has been poor in patches for a little while now (and exceptional at others). We have to remember we are missing one of our specialists. I also think Buttler should take some responsibility for organising them a little better.

In my opinion, Buttler has hardly kept brilliantly today either.

Very poor morning from the keeper and the slips. We should have a minimum of 2 gone here, 3 ideally.

Whatsa did the Keeper do wrong....anything past him Today were Nicks and wobbles...???

Poor glove work all day. All sorts is popping out. Lots of fumbles and second-attempt grabs.

Just some of the leg byes and balls that were close to him, I think he reacts slow sometimes and they could have been avoided. He won't ever get anything perfect but still, could be better.

WK...is always IMO too much in the critics Eveyline & easy target.....

Butcher is a good Wkeeper...but hes Not on the great-list..and like Warney says,Good enough and that exciting unknown quantity, that always put that

Worry mind set into the opposition...when batting

But L_Loyal..good debate......& thats what sport Away from the Field is all about......
