Fully deserved.  Has to go down as one of the best if not the best free transfers in not only our history but premier league history.

Never let us down and what he lacks in place now he makes up for in his reading If the game.

A real pro and will go down as a legend at the club.

One of the best.

I think James Milner has got to be the best for me.

Done well at every club he's been at but Liverpool getting him for free was a superb piece of business.

Looks like he is thought of as a centre back now, so with Evans, Soyuncu, Fuchs , Bennet and hopefully a toughened up Benkovic , we should be fine at centre back a good mixture of youth and experience.

Awesome news. The Fantastic Mr Fuchs can write his own contract here as far as I'm concerned. A smart, principled, hard-working talented footballer - we've been lucky to have him. If he does choose to go and spend more time with his family and his post football business', he goes with legend status and my sincere thanks.

Top bloke but it's more evidence of a disturbing lack of ambition.

Or taking a pragmatic view of our limited finances compared to the the 'big 6', this would free up transfer funds to spend elsewhere where it's probably needed more.

Also taking into account the new training ground and stadium expansion impact on the clubs overall finances.

Furthermore if we make the Champions League we'll have more money next year to look at a replacement that's if we haven't already brought in or got someone we'll be developing.

'It hurts' – Christian Fuchs reveals his Leicester City dilemma
Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers want the Austrian left-back to stick around at the King Power Stadium for another season, but the 34-year-old admits he's in two minds

Christian Fuchs is still to make a decision over his Leicester City future and is contemplating a permanent move to New York.

The veteran left-back is wanted for another year by City and manager Brendan Rodgers after his impressive performances as Ben Chilwell’s back-up.

However, if Fuchs was to remain at the King Power Stadium, he would be entering a sixth season at the club, double his original intention.

When Fuchs joined from Schalke, he had plans to leave after just three years before continuing his career in New York, where his wife and children live permanently.

The Austrian, who celebrated his 34th birthday last week, has admitted that he is undecided over his future because of how much he misses his family.

“I actually wanted to move to my family in the United States last summer, but because of Brendan Rodgers, I extended until the summer of 2020,” Fuchs told German magazine Socrates.

“I don't yet know what will happen next. It is a difficult decision because in Leicester it is fun on the one hand, but on the other hand it hurts to miss so many important moments in the development of my children.”

One of the pulling factors at City is Rodgers. Fuchs has been surprised that, even in the twilight of his career, he has still learned a lot from the Northern Irishman.

“Even though I have been in the game for a long time, I noticed under him how much I can still learn as a footballer,” Fuchs said.

“Brendan is a phenomenal coach, both tactically and in terms of team leadership.

“Tactically, he quickly changed us from a counter to a possession team. He only took over last spring, but we are already playing a completely different kind of football that both players and fans really like. I could never have imagined that this could happen so quickly.

“From the beginning, all the players stood behind him and his ideas and this is due to his excellent man management. He pays incredibly good attention to everyone's needs.”

Not only is he a footballer, but Fuchs is making waves as a businessman too. He has his Fox Soccer Academy in Austria, Leicester, and in the US, where he also runs the Hudson Sports Complex out of a disused prison.

Then he has his clothing line and an e-sports team.

Does he feel more like a footballer or a businessman these days?

“It’s well balanced,” Fuchs said. “Football is the basis for everything and I still have a lot of fun.

“Since football also includes a professional lifestyle in addition to games and training sessions, it is a 24-hour job for the body.

“But I can also use my head for other things. I have a soft spot for trying new things.”

“When I was a young boy, I always thought: ‘Why are the old people talking about tiredness? I cannot believe it! I can run without end!’

“But now I can already see that the stress affects me more than before.”

Fully understand his dilemma, he clearly loves it here but this lockdown will have made him appreciate his family time even more! Whatever he decides he will always be a legend of 2016 and the champions league run.

I think we ought to let him go.

He's been nothing short of phenomenal for us. He's served his time, let him live with his family and to let him run his businesses.

With Thomas coming through the ranks and Justin capable of playing either fullback I think we are in a position strong enough to cope without him.

I think we've done the right thing in offering him a contract. This way it's fully in his hands, should he wish to stay for another year he's able to but should he wish to call it a day, then he can as well.

But agree with everything you've said, we have good cover for that position. His experience is invaluable for us though.

I'd love it if he decides to stay for another season but its his own decision.

It would be incredibly sad if we can't give him a proper farewell goodbye due to matches played behind closed doors.

Unforgettable.

Thats one reason i can see him staying. He's clearly thoroughly enjoying playing and working under Rodgers. And ending his career as such could probably hurt a little rather than going out in front of a full crowd.

He's too good to let go. Top class player and ultimate pro in every respect. Knows he'll be a squad player and sounds like Chillwell might leave too. One more year Christian!

i really do feel like he should be given 100% love and support from us no matter what his decision is.

Hes been an excellent servant of the Club and a top professional.

If he stays, id love it, but if he chooses to go to his family then not only does he go with everyone’s best wishes i feel like he has earned the right to choose. we all want to be with our kids.

Absolutely.

But we're no longer in a position where we desperately need him. He's undoubtedly a Leicester legend and comfortably in our greatest ever XI.

Let the man retire with his family.

Not had time to read the thread but feel for him with a tough choice to be made.

Imo he is probably earning the most he has ever earned and the expectations on him are probably the lowest he has ever had. Nothing to prove and due to the timing of the explosion in wages. Plus of course what footballer doesn't want to extend their career at the highest level. Likely to play and get chances in  europe?

Definitely better/safer for us to keep him for another year than spend money on a likely back up player with no guarantees of success.

One of my favourite players but he really shouldnt renew another year, from what he says about missing important time with his kids and wife it seems like the best decision would have been to move to new york 2 years ago, let alone now. It's his personal life but i know what i would do in his situation, he's a leicester legend already he doesnt need to give any more to the club.

It must be a hard decision for him if he chooses to stay, that is for sure. If it means he can secure his family's financial future, then I'd understand the temptation to do that. But missing out on time with the family, especially during these challenging times, must be tough.
