Wasn't he loaned out for experience?

You'd still expect someone valued at £50m to be so good they didn't need to go "out for experience!" I'd want the finished product for that kind of cash!

Why is he hyped so much after a championship loan? Is it because he was at Leeds? Would we be seeing £50 million quotes if he was at West Brom or Fulham on loan?

His agent is really doing his best to force Brighton into making him first choice this year. I've never seen so many links and a ridiculous fee for someone I'd barely heard of

50m for an unproven 22 year old. Rather pay half of that and go after John stones.

No, no and no again to John Stones.

£50 million is nuts. I'd be happy if we got him for around £30 million though, he is fantastic

I’ve hardly seen him play, but if he was worth £30 mill why wasn’t he first choice at Brighton last season when they had Shane Duffy playing regularly?

Yeah established, full international that is quick and actually a very good footballer... Nope definitely not.

He has had a rough time at Man City and often been used as a scapegoat.

He is very highly rated and it would probably be best for the lad's development to do at least a season at Brighton where he's guaranteed a PL starting place in a back 3 alongside more experienced centre backs like Dunk and Webster.

I kind of hope Brighton keep him as it will be a two fingers to the clubs chasing him (even if one of the clubs is supposedly us) and a signal that they won't just roll over to let him go

£50m is insane money, the market’s gone mad.

Of course it has. We are masters of it when teams want our players.

Where has this come from? Never even heard of the lad.

The fact you've never heard of him is a bit meaningless, really. It reminds me of my friends, who like to demonstrate their knowledge of tennis players by proudly announcing 'never heard of them'.

With Dunk possibly on his way to Chelsea, and Duffy also leaving, I can see White getting the big first choice centre back contract he wants and staying at Brighton

Fair play to Brighton, 50m price tag on someone without a single PL minute is a cracking grift. Surely nobody's biting if they can stand firm on that and if they do well Brighton are laughing.
