Agree - if there is a fee of that size then I’m sure we must be paying him a decent chunk as a loyalty payment to cover his lower wages there ..... would have preferred Monaco where the tax could have eaten some of that difference ....

Good riddance. Terrible signing and by all accounts an awful bloke too. If the 8-10 million fee is accurate we have done well to shift him for that. Starting to build up a nice little transfer kitty here and freed up some big wages too! Let’s go get a few top signings and go into next season with ambition and excitement.

Let’s remember Newcastle paid £4m loan fee! And that was just for half a season. I’m sure Fenerbahce and Monaco would of paid the same and then the £8m transfer fee from Rennes. So that’s £20m! Yes it’s still a loss, but could of been a lot worse. If we sell Iheanacho for £15m then that’s around £73m in transfer fees plus a few others to leave. So say £80m in and that’s quite a healthy amount of money.
