Gives us a big pot of funds to work with and Slimani's wages off the book will be a breath of fresh air. Rennes are a good, on-the-up club, cash rich and very well run. It's a great move for Slimani and us and if the fee is high as €8-10mil then even better. Rennes are getting a good goalscorer for that level too. I'd hope that some of the money freed up might be spent on upgrading Riccy P's contract. By rights he should be up there with Vardy, Kasper and Madders as one of the highest earners. The player will not throw away that 1.5m and the buying club will not pay it. that only leaves us ..... of course we lose 4 m off our wage bill but 1.5m is smoke and mirrors. Shame it did not work out for him as he can score goals, just not the way we play and in a squad where togetherness is valued highly, probably the wrong fit.
