Best news since Dennis Wise left.  Ghezzel, Silva, Diabate and James out and this will have been a fantastic window.

I think it only becomes a 'fantastic window' if we buy well as those players leave...

City could agree to cover the wages for the duration of his final contract year with us.

Why would that ever be the case ? It would just be adjusted with the fee ie Rennes say we want to give you 10m but only want to pay half is 3m wages so we will pay 8.5m  and the other half goes towards his last years wages when he will then go on to 40k per week.

Congers has that aspect all under control.  The man that brought us Ryan Bennett is about to show his worth.....

Slimani played his role for the club. He didn't command the transfer fee the club did. His goal record wasn't that bad. He just didn't fit the playing style of the club. If we 8-10m that's great business for the club, they should learn form their mistakes of paying inflated transfer fees and wages.

Totally agree with this assessment. When you throw in this transfer fee plus previous loan fees we're probably down by less than £10m, which is not bad at all. Plus Slim's goal per minutes ratio was pretty good and he scored some important goals. Obviously we hoped for better when we paid £28m but we've definitely had worse transfers than his, Silva for a start - he has contributed nothing at all in 3 years.

Slimani is great striker but was never get his chance since Reniery left. Look what he did at Monaco last season...Rennes are playing champions league next season and they need an experience forward..they will sign him surely. Wish him all the best...hard working player and he will do in League 1 French.

Hard working in a really lazy, entitled, moaning sort of way?

Has to be the boss man or won’t work. He thought he would come here and dethrone Vardy... that is all you need to know about this mug

Just watched the highlights from the Sheff Utd cup game a couple of years ago where he rounded the keeper to score and then celebrated by kissing Dimmy on the neck. I'll never forget the good times

If this is true then it really is fantastic news the guy has been a bit of a millstone round our necks with the fee we paid his wages and attitude. And if we’ve actually got money form the deal even better .
