Been saying it since we bought him; his ideal position is on the rhs of a center three.
He’s got an error per game in him, but this is definitely his position.
If Fofana comes back the same as he left, then he’ll displace him.

Ouch that’s gonna hurt ya

I’ve said a few times now I’d start him over Soyuncu at the moment

Nice to see Big Dan getting recognition from the fans after all the shite he's took in the past.  Rodgers doesn't fancy him as a CB in a back 4  despite him being our best performing CB at the start of the season.

Can get behind this. Makes sense as a RCB in a three. He’s done really well and we’ve finally found his best position.

Some will find it tough to accept but he’s been our best defender this season. When he plays we usually win too.

Totally agree, but he’s perhaps only one slip up away from incurring the wrath of the hate mob on here. Really pleased for the lad - he’s a true professional

he wasn't the problem today, the total lack of a press was, look at the difference when we did it second half, Brendan has a habit of sticking with a formation based on the result rather then looking at the opponent

It's not his fault we lost today, he's been suffering with VAS (Vestergaard Adjacency Syndrome) and it's rubbing off on Cags too. Very contagious.

Unreal isn’t it

Won't be long before the 'we let two goals in which proves Amartey's shit' logical masterstroke makes its second appearance (and that'd be just today)

If, as I expect, we go back to a back four he won't be in.

He did what he usually does- some decent defending mixed in with soft errors.

Not a great half for him, but the same could be said for all of the outfield players. Luke (soft errors, everything backwards and no defending) and Youri especially poor the first half

I agree he won't make the back four cut, but the soft errors bit hasn't been 'usual' this season, and he's still the only CB passing through the front line to our midfield. Also can't see that he was at fault (specifically) for either goal

One of my mates was actually at the game and is usually an Amartey fan

Text me to say both Thomas and Big Dan were absolute dirt in that first half. Particularly Thomas who looked completely out of his depth

Must have said it over ten times.. we’ll get nowhere with this defence. How soon is little Wes back cos it can’t come soon enough

But you keep deluding yourselves

👍

I'm sure you genuinely get satisfaction out of one of our players having a bad game. Weird.

No I’d rather see the team do well

Which is my entire point I guess…

He’s not good enough.

Always on the edge of making a mistake and cannot pass well enough. He has to take an extra touch a lot of the time and he looks nervous to play anything other than the most simple pass he has available.

Unfortunately in a team that wants to play out from the back and relies on moving it through the lines quickly that’s an issue.

The fact he’s played so many games is a poor reflection on our ability over the last couple of years to recruit enough centre halves.

So you weren't at the game and didn't watch it but still find time to dig out players.

Good effort to be fair.

Impressed today.  He made it all the way to their 18yard box before he passed back

he has and always will be backup to the squad and imo a modest professional in doing it

never moans and never sulks like some

Is it Brendan’s habit or this forums, had he gone with a back four this forum would have gone into melt down with why Is he changing a winning formula etc etc

I prefer the back 4 with the personal we have available and now Evans is fit we should stick with it, him and Cags for now to allow another midfielder in.
