West Ham 0-3 Post Mortem

Recommended Posts

It was shite but let's chalk it down as an off day. Too many players just were not on it. You can't blame Brendan for that. The break now gives us chance to get players back fit, improve fitness of Evan's, Madders etc. No-body panic!

Same old story. Can’t break down an organised defence. They just crowd out Vardy and wait for us to make a mistake with a sloppy pass. And as for the corners we don’t ever look like winning a header at either end.

When is Rodgers ever going to address our weaknesses, let alone try to fix them??

Not a single shot on target against that crap, 69% possession, why do we never mix it up when it's not working?

They won every header in both boxes and when they weren't doing that they had 11 men behind the ball, we looked clueless, not physical enough either!

We got battered, pure and simple. West Ham did a job on us as we did to Man City last week and it could been 5 or 6 in the end. I don’t think they started particularly well but once Soyuncu switched off for the first goal they executed perfectly. Very much reminded me of the Palace game under Puel, that came after a good run too.

I don’t think the system was a major problem, the performance of the players on the wasn’t good enough to execute anything. We were sloppy from the start, defensively we switched off, our touches were off, the passing was slow and inaccurate. Really poor on the day and got done by a team that was right on it.

The most worrying this was how clueless we looked, didn’t fashion anything at all until that Vardy chance.

0 shots on target at home
defensively awful

Players were awful and so was the manager

We are so dodgy at the back, we aren’t going anywhere this season conceding the amount of goals we do. Pundits ripped Man City apart last week but against the counter attack how are we any better? Evans and Soyunchu awful but were also exposed.

That wasn’t just a defeat and let’s move on, that was worryingly poor

I for one don't believe West Ham are a good side. They are a team full of dossers managed by a bum on his sofa. They played OK but the problem was Rodgers came into the game thinking he is some sort of dimension bending genius when he set us up to lose the game. Soyuncu was positioned in a way to make him look like an idiot and that was the game done in the first half.

Rodgers strikes again. As good as it was, last weeks result is not enough to make up for the number of times he’s lost us games since December.

Needs to get over his god complex, his ego is the reason he’ll never be a top manager

What a load of bollocks

Always takes too long to bring iheanacho on or just change in general... Perez very poor, well organized from West Ham.

And that VAR, the camera angles they show us make it look ridiculously impossible to judge based on millimetres. Do they really judge them from that angle?

No shots or creative play (until the 93rd minute), no organisation at the back, no threat whatsoever.

We were utterly dreadful all over the pitch. We offered nothing anywhere.

Rodgers is too much of a fairweather manager for me- makes hay while the sun shines but looks bereft of ideas when the going gets tough.

No Praet or Maddison is at play here IMO. The way play as a team you have to have that creativity in midfield otherwise we are so easy to play against when we gift a team the lead.

That sounds like an excuse and we should have done better even with the players available. Its a wake up call.

Gutted Barnes goal didn't stand as that was superb from him. Terrible days work all in all.

Agree, really missed those 2 especially with how well Praet has been playing.  He really links up play and has a telepathy with Youri and Timmy that was really missing today.

Rodgers got it all wrong but the players have to take a huge chunk of responsibility for their performances.

Evans and Soyuncu were absolutely pathetic today. Antonio bossed them about to the extent that Evans was so worried about him that he was marking Antonio in an unthreatening position as Rice basically walked in a straight line towards the goal.

Justin looked out of his depth (not for the first time) and the less said about Perez the better.

Rodgers’ tactics were really poor but he’s been let down by some individuals there.

We can have no complaints about the result, West Ham were excellent, especially Ogbonna and Antonio.

Because he’s stubborn
