Excellent podcast with Nigel getting in depth on man management, constantly learning etc etc

Really enjoyed this and under 40 minutes so not too draining.

Pearson gets his name back out there over the weekend and now Sheffield Wednesday sack Monk.

They hire Pulis. You know how desperate Wednesday are :fishing:.

Better to wait and find the right fit like Rodgers did here.

I like blokes who are plain and clear spoken. Another one is the chef Marco Pierre White. If anyone is interested watch a Q&A of him on YouTube he is very introspective like our Nige.

Just watched this, really enjoyed it. Both of them are incredibly self assured which is appealing

This would be perfect for him. A real project for him and without much media attention. Unless of course they decide to do another docuseries

Think that would be a deal breaker for Nige

Sunderland would be a good fit for him provided they give him the time regardless of results to develop and build the Club.

They have some gremlins behind the scenes I believe which needs to be sorted to give him a real chance for success.

They have huge potential if they're smart enough to back him 100%.

If he does have 'long Covid' symptoms then would they employ him in the first place though? - regardless of the potentially great job he could do there at such a 'sleeping giant' if given time and especially when you see what he did with us in League One 12 seasons ago of course when getting us straight back up to the Championship - leading to much greater things thereafter of course over his two spells with us! The fact that a club that he had strong connections of old with (Sheffield Wednesday) didn't take him on this week (where he was a good player back in the day) and opted for 'safety first' in Pulis perhaps means Sunderland will be cautious too - especially if they have owners who may not have Sunderland as a football club's best interests at heart.....a la at Watford! Watch this space I guess.

Listening now. It's so clear to see why he gets the respect from his players and why he would be brought in to rescue clubs/build foundations.

Not quite true. He done ok at several Clubs like Southampton, Hull and Watford. Sunderland are a huge club in waiting.

They just need to clear out some of the disruptive staff they have and appoint the right Manager.

Pearson could be that Man, but they'ed have to back him 100 % and give him the time to change things for the better.

In a way they are in the best place to do that in league 1. Less pressure on everyone. When he builds momentum like he did here

then they could be well on the way back to the Premiership. Similar to what he done hear.

What made a big difference here was the fact that he had the full backing of the Chairman and the Owners at the time.

When you get personalities at a club pulling in different directions it doesn't take long for things to go belly up.

Which I believe is what's being going on at Sunderland for years. Such are the small margins between success and failure at any football club.

We're so lucky here with the Owners we have.

Sunderland are an absolute poison chalice of a club and have been for many years.

He’d either get them promoted and be adored by the macams or he’d struggle and be out in 6 months

Nothing in between is allowed at Sunderland
