I'm just inferring that losing £9m on Haller is peanuts, considering how much we have lost on Silva and Slimani in transfer fees and wages. At least West Ham have had the sense to sell whilst they can recoup some of their outlay, whereas we've been lumbered with Slimani for 4 years and Silva for 3 and let them go for nothing. I think there's a common code in football that you don't slag off players or clubs no matter how things have gone to protect their career and the reputation of the club. Many clubs now look beyond talent and look at the personality/professionalism side, he's probably unknowingly just reduced the number of clubs that'll be interested in him in the future. Not got a bad scoring record at sociedad, around 1 in 3. Reading on their Facebook page sounds like they needed to even out their FFP requirements, and he's fallen out of favor a bit there. Are loan to buys worth it at all for the selling club? I guess if the player impresses they will sell but it's also such a low risk for the buying club and gets them a potentially decent option for the season, like us with Ünder.
