Bloody hell, although he hasn't lit it up i still think there's a very good player there in Haller. They should have gone and got Jovic on loan to test that before selling him for such a knockdown price. He will be devastating at Ajax with Tadic, Antony, Promes, Danilo (next season), Traore and various other attackers around him.

We need to step up our game and grab some more attacking players, I’m awfully jealous of the talent Ajax have at their disposal.

They've got a free stadium and can fit 60,000 in. It's made a massive difference to their income.

What's more, aren't the operators responsible for staffing and stewarding, yet West Ham collect 100% of the gate receipts? It's a ridiculous deal for everybody except West Ham. Or should I say WEST SCAM.

Haller has already played in Holland before the Frankfurt move, arguably he’ll be coming back a stronger player + a better team than before his last stint in Holland. I think Ajax have got a good deal there in this current market

And he will be under the manager who coached him then so must rate him highly. Very good move by them

Don't think we should be too critical of West Ham selling Haller for a £9m loss, when you look at the hit we have taken on Slimani and Silva.

Well you can when you make £50 mill on Chilwell, £25 mill on N’golo, £34 mill on Drinky, £60 mill on Mahrez and £60 mill + on slab head

You can’t begrudge the owners that - sales of dildos and porn mags must have suffered in the current climate

We’ve made enough profit selling players to buy a state of the art training ground and reinvest in our squad very well

But I am not disputing that we have sold players for really good profits. I'm just inferring that losing £9m on Haller is peanuts, considering how much we have lost on Silva and Slimani in transfer fees and wages. At least West Ham have had the sense to sell whilst they can recoup some of their outlay, whereas we've been lumbered with Slimani for 4 years and Silva for 3 and let them go for nothing.

This is.... superb... from Haller lol

Following his move Haller, 26, told Ajax TV: "This is a club where I can compete in the Champions League and chase titles every season.

"It's that winning mentality that suits me."

I think there's a common code in football that you don't slag off players or clubs no matter how things have gone to protect their career and the reputation of the club.

Many clubs now look beyond talent and look at the personality/professionalism side, he's probably unknowingly just reduced the number of clubs that'll be interested in him in the future.

I think comments like that actually show a real lack of thought from both player and agent

@Ric Flair Looks like Balogun is off to RB Leipzig on a free end of the season & despite Arteta stating Nketaih won't be sold in Jan the writing looks to be on the wall for him also with only 1yr left on his contract once the season ends & no talk of any extension, i wouldn't be surprised if West Ham make a move soon.

What a surprise from Leipzig, the absolute pits of a club.

Also saw it somewhere saying Joshua Zirkzee is going to Frankfurt, but also mentioned is Everton

looks like the Frankfurt deal has been scuppered with Luka Jovic going there till end of the season meaning good chance Zirkzee goes Everton (makes sense knows Carlo from his BM days) to cover for DCL injury, would assume that will be a loan also although he nearly joined them during the Koeman era but i think Bayern want him as long term replacement for Lew'ski.

Out of that probably means unless Frankfurt have an option to buy Jovic he could be freed up in the summer for a possible cheap deal.

Willian José gone to Wolves on loan from Real Sociedad till the end of the season, apparently with option to buy. Not got a bad scoring record at sociedad, around 1 in 3. Reading on their Facebook page sounds like they needed to even out their FFP requirements, and he's fallen out of favor a bit there.

Are loan to buys worth it at all for the selling club? I guess if the player impresses they will sell but it's also such a low risk for the buying club and gets them a potentially decent option for the season, like us with Ünder.

Matt Ryan has joined Arsenal on loan from Brighton

The almost overnight dropping of Ryan was really strange, I always thought he looked solid for Brighton. Makes sense for Arsenal, a prem experienced keeper to supprt Leno.

Weren’t we heavily linked with him before he chose West Ham? He looked decent the few times I saw him play.

I thought that. Work ethic? Face didn't fit? Seems a strange one - I was excited about getting him and then he went to Wet Spam, appeared to be a talent then they shipped him out - I haven't looked on their boards to find out the rationale behind that – has anybody else?
