He has more class, ability, character and integrity than 90% of our other players but he is coming back off another longish injury, questionable what impact he could have.

Poor Wilf 

 

Winks alongside Wilf instead of one the strikers and I think that's probably our best side, although I do think Kristensen is unlucky at times. 2 'number 8s' in Bilal and Facunda is our best bet of creating anything.

 

I'd be amazed if Ricardo starts. But you could possibly play him alongside Wilf in the middle.

Personally if I was wilf I’d rather not have a partner who either goes missing completely, pretends to mark or gets the ball and gives it straight to opposition in a dangerous area. 
 

Always the option that while one wb bombs forwards the other tucks in next to him ala maresca

I agree. It's where he plays for Morocco, too. Earlier in the season, Facundo was much more of a goal threat in the 10, both in terms of scoring and assisting.

5 1 4 is a new one on me. Maybe with Kante or 19/20 Wilf but I think that's asking a bit much of him

To be fair the only positions I can’t see him improving are goalkeeper, striker and (arguably) CB.

That midfield would get ripped to shreds. The issue we have with 5atb is that we have to play a very negative 2/ a pair that cannot progress the ball. Playing Wilf on his own is absolutely mental though.

He’s hard working, smart and always willing to press and tackle. The complete opposite of Soumare for a 1/4 of the wage. 

 

If Soumare doesn’t play, how will he get his 10k steps in for the day?

I get the skepticism but given how little we have the ball facundo and bilal operate more as 8s than 10s. I just used it to demonstrate that they would be further forward than wilf. 
 

I think both would help out defensively more than winks, skipp or soumare have all season

Ideally we'd have 3 CMs in there and actually use that as a base to 1) Stop teams running through us for fun. 2) use it to push teams back. 

 

We currently play a 4 4 2 in effect, with Bilal up with Vardy. 

 

Watching us play a 6 3 1 formation v West Ham and still get caught out at the back suggests to me that playing a back 5 with 1 defensive minded midfielder would just be an absolute slaughter.

I can’t bear the thought of seeing Faes, Coady or Vesty ever playing for us again. I realise I’m going to have to tolerate them all for several more years yet, but can’t wait to see Souttar & Nelson or Okoli next season.

 

 

PS. I can really. In fact I can probably wait a few years before going again…

Bilal can play that role, Winks has been doggo, would ve similar to ndidi tielemens in my mins, would be worth a try and the only way you get facundo and bilal in the same team, unless you play a 4-4-1-1

Contrary to what some here may assume I think Ruud is smart enough to know Ricardo is part of any possible best 11. But I don't think he'll start him after he's been out so long.
