He commentators on football quite regularly on BT.

"Gomish" is OK if you are trying to impress the locals on holiday but in commentary, it just makes you sound like the kind of pretentious wazzock who says the capital of France is "Paree" in all situations.

This is a poor defence, but he got the result at Everton wring but he got the mood music right. 

 

When wilf joined we were in a right old.mess and going down. As Demosey is a guy who might have a vested interest in us, he was probably quoting the general vibe he could recall around the place at the time

BT Sport are absolute trash when it comes to commentary and punditry. Ian Darke is garbage, Fletcher is unbearable. Then every time they show Tottenham (which is all the fecking time because they are BT's favourite team) you get a Hoddle and Jenas toss off session slurping all over their first name pals Harry, Moussa, Jose, Eric and all the rest of their nob squad. When they were covering us in the Europa, it was like someone had turned Savage into an NPC in a low budget RPG videogame, as he sat there constantly retelling the same ****ing story every 5 minutes of every game.

To be honest, I was more concerned with the commentator calling Everton's approach a tactical masterplan instead of a Stokesque shithousing, whilst giving Mike Dean the usual free pass.

Problem with the "shh" on the end is the fine line between sounding sophisticated or Schteve McClaren fake Dootch.

100% this, I felt like throwing the tv out the window them banging on about how great it was. Sticking every player behind the ball isn’t genius tactics. Lumping balls forwards isn’t revolutionary. They all cried at Everton about Big Sam style of football, yet Carlo is a god !!

Absolute garbage from all bar Lindsay, the Geordie female presenter.

 

The female pundit had obviously only seen Leicester before in a highlights reel. And not taken notes. Embarrassing.

 

The commentary from Paul Dempsey was as bad as I have ever heard. Leaving aside the pompous pronunciations and the constant mistaken identity, what got me most annoyed was how he was almost citing Everton’s performance as a masterclass... until we scored and then suddenly it was all about how brilliant we had played. What a two-faced tool. And of course having that narcissistic ignoramus Savage alongside wasn’t going to help.

 

And worst of all? The interviewer who didn’t even ask Brendan about Ndidi’s injury.

 

When I watch cricket, golf or NFL, part of the enjoyment is the brilliant, informative, sometimes witty commentators and pundits. With football, apart from Leicester games, I invariably watch with the mute button on. I wish I’d made that a general policy tonight.

Drury uses lovely poems but he knows fvck all about Leicester and has a raging hard on for the concept of ‘big clubs’. He famously shouted “There’s your fairytale” when Welbeck scored in the last minute.
