Hi foxes, can you please sort a discussion between me and wife. Alison is a fox. She can’t recall the name of the goalie for Leicester probably in the 90 s, he came on as sub a lot, but was remembered for saving lots of pens. Wife said he also did the grobelar wobbly legs thing as well? I say it’s Arphechead but wifey says no??

Strangely enough the goalie I remember who was most renowned for saving penalties was Paul Cooper.

But he was late eighties, was mostly first choice and didn’t do the wobbly legs

Zelco Kalac was brought on in the playoff final to face penalties but we got a last second winner and didn't need him.

He came on as a substitute once and saved penalties from the well renowned known expert penalty takers Lee Dixon and Giles Grimandi in a shoot out. If that counts as “a lot” and “lots”....he did let about four or  five in in the build up to that though.

Fulham was the game he’s remembered for but he did start that game.

'Chopper Pegguy' as he was later known.

I thought he was the step-uncle of those two brothers up at Newcastle? The Longstaff’s?

He won 7 trophies in his career, despite only making something like 40 league appearances.

And he won all of the medals without playing - he was an unused sub each time. He got six of the medals with Liverpool, despite only playing for them twice.

That provides the basis for a pub-quiz question.
