We'll be back in Europe very shortly and then it starts all over again.

Think we’ll invest more the summer whether it’s CL or Europa.  Unless we completely implode it will be Europa at the very least.

This rare week between games, along with the upcoming international break is exactly what our squad needed.

The break could be a good opertunity to give the players some time off too. Get them in to keep fitness levels up and let them spend some additional time with families etc. Let them be actual humans for a week or so.

you'd like to think the players we have or will get rid of would allow this - and their replacements to be a bit better !

We certainly need too and hopefully a couple will be better players hopefully.

There's no point in qualifying otherwise.

I'd be quite happy to forego the FA cup as well, put a 2nd string out and break a few united legs.

Been saying this since the 3rd round!.. let's just concentrate on finishing in the top 4!.. would mean so much more to the progress as a Club than any FA Cup win. CL football will help attract the best players and keep the likes of Youri and Madders at the club.

You mean this one

VintageFooty on Twitter: "Leicester manager Jock Wallace takes Gary Lineker & his teammates through a tough preseason training session 1978… "

Watch Leicester City Football Training online - BFI Player

Video - https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/watch-leicester-city-football-training-1978-online

Admittedly, football pitches of the 1970s were so poor that they were often covered with sand but even so, Jock Wallace's new training programme may have taken things a bit too far. The inspiration to make the Foxes fitter by forcing them to run up mounds of sand may have come from Sidney Lumet's 1965 film 'The Hill', but it's the way in which the noted disciplinarian takes to the role of sergeant major that is most notable.

Under Jock Wallace Leicester City won promotion back to Division One after two seasons in charge. His greatest legacy at Filbert Street was discovering and nurturing Gary Lineker who went on to become one of England's top goal scorers.

Although I would have loved us to progresses in the Europa League and to play Rangers, I looked at the fixtures and felt relieved that our bruised and battered squad were getting a reasonable rest before the Sheff Utd game.

Having to go out on Thursday and further test our resources could have backfired on the Premier League run in with so little squad rotation possible.

I think this is the right way to look at it - this season is already unprecedented in terms of the fixture pile-up and lack of pre-season. Player fatigue and injuries have literally never been worse.

Something had to give. Especially with it being our first season in the Europa. We just don't have the squad that the big clubs do. And that's OK, it's something we're building on every single season. Hopefully next season will be closer to 'normal'; we really need to have a good transfer window though in terms of quality and quantity of players.

Plus it was good to be part of it as it clearly showed how much strengthening of the squad is needed.

Mixed feelings about this. I want us to give it a good go. But United have a far bigger squad to cope with their injuries and fixtures. If we go through then fantastic. But if instead we concentrate on the league with fewer fixtures then I’m frankly fine with that too.

Totally agree with this, if this was a more "normal" season I think we'd have gone a round or two further in the Europa. Since the turn of the year our best players have been Barnes and Maddison, JJ superb before that. A team like Leicester is going to suffer massively with 3 injuries like that in a short space of time.

Agreed! As a club we are in that position of having a good first team, with decent depth, but not quite enough. The Castagne and Fofana signings have been brilliant, to a lesser extent Praet too. Players that are really good as either first team or squad players. If we keep everyone and sign two more players like that, it will make a big difference.

All this huffng & puffing.about sorting out our priorities....

We aint got nothing yet, we might end up with nothing...!!ich

So pragmatic, prüfen und wise Sporting council...

We are a Professional club, playing at the highest level...Injuries have been a b*ggar...BUT!!!

Its the managers's the Squad's, & the club's duty and expectancy....To compete for all competitions...

There are simply no excuses..!!    The excuses & mitigating  circumstances can be Counted & faced afterwards....

And prejudging what is or would be a failure is just immature unadulterated, arrogant entitlement, which we havent yet earnt as a club or squad...!!

Finishing fourth in the league would mean more to you than seeing your club win a trophy? Very odd.

Nothing odd about it at all....

Of course I'd love us to win the FA Cup , but not this season. Our squad isn't strong enough to compete in both and at the same time the Europa!!..

I just think looking at the bigger picture, finishing 4th is more beneficial to the club right now!

Ideally I'd love us to do both, but at this moment in time I don't think it's possible given the strength of our squad.

Finishing 4th over 38 games in a league where we're outspent by 7 or 8 clubs would be more impressive than winning 5/6 one off matches and winning a cup. Sneering at that achievement seems odd, especially when it would bring greater rewards to the club and allow us to improve more than any cup win would.

The longer we're knocking around the top 4, the better our squad becomes, the better our chances of progressing further in cups on a regular basis.

That being said, with the schedule now, there's no reason not to go all out in the league and FA cup at this point. The squad should be more than capable of it from this point.
