I think he probably would yes.  Much as he has made a tit of himself recently, he was decent in a Crisis.

unfortunately for Blair you can't use extraordinary rendition on a virus. What would have Alastair Cambell come up with? Coronavirus has the ability to infect and kill anyone in the British mainland within 45 minutes?

Just better all round ministerial standards tbh. Certainly would have dealt with someone like Hancock better.

 

Edit: I know it isn't a particularly high bar to clear, however.

The thing that depresses me most about these polls is that the majority of the population in fact do not support what this government is doing to our country. Conservatives 42% Progressives 46% is all I see, and it’s pretty much the same story with every poll and election. It’s the same in America where the Democrats almost always win the popular vote, but their electoral system like ours artificially aids conservatives who are made up of a minority of the population. Except the difference in the UK is the progressive vote is split among many parties, unlike the US. One look at the right wing press would have you believe most of us are apologists for the lies, incompetence and corruption perpetrated over the past couple of years, but in reality we’re not.
