What's most important today is the performance. It will show if we are Improving and making progress.

I know the points are also important but I'm looking for performance today, if that improves the points will follow.

It’s just getting the basics right at the back; something we have struggled with so far

Re our Prem results:

First 3 games - WLW

Last 4 games - LLDD

The results have dipped and the most recent ones show definite relegation form, so I don't think it's an unreasonable observation by Foxxed.

That's not to say that there's any worry at the moment, it's only 7 games in, but we need an improvement sooner rather than later.

Hopefully today we'll see some of the old fight back in the team.

Four ****ing games. Give it a rest.

Oh and we wouldn’t be relegated even if anyone in their right mind started classing 4 games as a big enough sample, 4 teams would be below us still.

Uh. I’ve just realised Newcastle will take our potential place in the top four while we’re on a descent with our best ever squad. How depressing.

Snap out of it, and dont write posts under the influence of Alchol again...

This is a really good read - great to hear Rodgers being so clear and honest, and has exactly the right mindset and drive to move us forward:

Interesting he says that some players may think we have reached our peak with 5th and the FA Cup win, and how he is handling this.

I am behind Rodgers.  But an area of concern is recruitment.

If all were fit, I would have few Rodgers buys in the first 11.   Fofana, and Lookman would be the only two I would have in ( I think Justin predated Rodgers).

Perhaps this reflects the quality of our recruitment pre-Rodgers.   Some of the players I wouldn't put in are quality or potential quality:. Castagne is excellent; I suspect Soumare will be a long term success;. When Daka gets his opportunity, he could light up the league.  However, Bertrand and Vestergaard, although both have positive attributes seem to be a drop in quality; I always worry when Perez is in the side; the treatment of Praet was strange.

The January window will be interesting.  Defensively, we are off the pace.  Possibly, Justin, Evans and Fofana will return but added quality defensively would be helpful.

When Rodgers arrived, concerns were expressed about his recruitment.  For me, those concerns remain.

JJ was a Rodgers signing

Clearly loves the club, no reason not too…..everyone should step back and appreciate the last six years……and get right behind the team, we have lost three games…Manchester City, West Ham and Brighton away…no shame in any of them and we more than deserved a point at Brighton……

We are 5 points ahead of the relegation places. How exactly are we in relegation form FFS.

7 matches. 8 points. 1.1 points per match on average. 42 points if we keep to this form. If we lose to United 38 points with this form. I don’t think it’s radical to suggest that’s relegation form. Hopefully we’ll beat United and turn the corner.

Rodgers haters can all go **** themselves.

As much as I'm not a Rodgers hater, that's the first decent league performance this season. Its a fixture that players SHOULD be fired up for, but hopefully it's a corner turned.

Got everything right today :appl:

He did. I wondered whether Daka was the right choice to bring on, whether he'd be ready for such a big game and tight match, but the lad done good. BR obviously sees what he can do daily and knew that he'd be ready for  the occasion.

Thing that pleased me above all was the way the wingbacks were given licence to bomb on. I thought we'd play a flat back 5 but they were up and down all day.

Subs were spot on as well and made at exactly the right times. Perfect game for Daka and Vardy given how lumbering Slabhead was all game.

Spot on, that’s why the meltdown about five at the back is misplaced, it may occasionally be, but it’s more a fluid 3-4-1-2 I would have thought
