As great as it would be for Liverpool to lose tonight, it wouldn't fill me with confidence to know we only needed a draw to get 4th.

Knowing Brendan, he'd play for the bugger, and it's such a difficult position to be in.

Draw tonight, leave us with no option but to go for it :fc:

Do want Spurs to win and Villa to lose today? Then Spurs are certain of top 6. However, if they have nothing to play for on Sunday, they may just sit back.

John Kettleby, weatherman and Burnley fan fancies a draw.

I meant West Ham lose, not Villa.

i remember when liverpool did this to man city in the CL a few years ago. it worked !  i just think our fanbase isn't up to 'dirty tricks', just like our players !

Did it against Chelsea for periods in the FA cup final and i'd like to think it played a small part in helping.

We're more than capable as a fanbase especially with a reduced crowd of making an intimidating atmosphere!

If we are properly at it, I really do fancy us to smash these, I don't know why, my earlier thoughts were a 5-1 win but after watching the Villa 2nd, i'm thinking we may be able to get a 6th. Chelsea and Liverpool can do what they want, our fate is firmly in our hands with a convincing win.

I'd rather play against them with something to play for and exploit the space that will open up, rather than have them just languidly retaining possession. Which we'll do ourselves, play out a lame 0-0 or 1-1, and get pipped by Liverpool on the day.

Besides, it gives us the added incentive of potentially leaving one (possibly two) of the Greedy Six with zero European football at all. That's a goal worth pursuing.

Normally we we would be clear favourites for this but we have some seriously knackered players. Let's hope they are just as tired as we are. I would suggest no training and stay in bed for a couple of days.

Spurs showing their defensive frailty tonight. However, we know how good they can be going forward. Just need to have a real go from the start; fast start, not fast last 15 mins. when we need a goal.

Let’s hope we play on the front foot... especially as we need to win by a few goals margin..

please no 5-3-2 negative stuff..

Please please attack them, they look frail at the back.   They have got a dangerous forward line, playing this slow methodical game will play into there hands.   Villa had chances to make that 4 or 5.

As it’s stands, Spurs 1pt ahead of Arsenal. That will be a motivation for them to stay ahead.

Just like 15/16 when they lost 5-0 to newcastle

Sadly we can expect no favours for this reason

hoping they may be inclined to help us to finish above Chelsea is now more than countered by this arsenal problem.

Game against Spurs is a must win. Anything else isn't down to us really. Can't rely on Liverpool and Chelsea to drop points but we can only hope.

I never thought I'd say this but I think I'd rather lose this and miss out on a CL place on points than win and miss out on goal difference- as bizarre as that sounds. To miss out on goal difference would be beyond brutal.
