I do hope the players and manager don't read Foxes Talk.

I don’t boo but I do like to moan on here about things. Sometimes a man needs to vent!

At games I’ll actively encourage when in my head I know things ain’t going to work out. Like a few guys have said you might as well do that than boo which ain’t gonna help anyone.

Not read it but a nice lesson for some of our fans. He was hammered after Palace away and it was so OTT and unnecessary. No surprise he played better in empty stadiums

It's the definition of counter productive to boo your own players coming into the game.

Even if the thought is it might motivate them cheering and applause would most likely help just as much and would also help the team as a whole. What would the other 10 players be thinking when they see a player being booed surely not going to lift them.

But without that booing, would he have found the motivation to prove the supporters wrong? I know it’s bad but isn’t it things like that that ultimately force a player to push himself.

It wasn't just Iheanacho, Chilwell was booed alot, as was Barnes. Then those cynical gits who only make noise when they are being c*nts get offended when they leave.

From that I'd say he got his motivation from Ndidi and the rest of the players / management team. I really can't see how booing would motivate you unless you were deliberately not trying. If things that normally work for you aren't working then you need encouragement to keep trying, ideas to adapt.

I fear we as a club are one of the worst for it. Even by other club's low standards, a decent minority of city fans are reactionary. Brilliant if we win or garbage if we lose. No shades of grey.

It's  possible it's a culture thing of the city in general. The default setting of Leicester people generally is self deprecating, 'looks like rain, shan't bother, shithole anyway' type

I’d have said he got his motivational support from ndidi,

He’s only become good when there’s no fans in booing him. Not in the two previous years when he was being booed.

The idea he didn’t have the motivation to be the best in the first place is daft. He wouldn’t be a professional footballer if that was the case, never mind a top level one. He’s already give up a lot to just get this far. He’s literally emigrated here to make the best of his life.

Which is what I just wrote.

I’ve always been so passionately anti booing our own players. I might mutter “oh for **** sake” or something quietly when Perez gives the ball away for the 20th time, but that’s about it.

People forget that these guys are human beings, some of whom might be quite fragile individuals. It’s as if because they earn good money people think that gives them the right to slag them off.

You should only boo players on forums and social media in my opinion. Never do it at a game. Do voice memos and post it on the Internet if you have to.

Largely agree.

The booing of Chilwell in the FA Cup Final clearly motivated him - he could have scored a goal and made a major contribution to another if it weren’t for a brilliant save and a close offside decision, and he only played for a fraction of the game.

Yes, he’s said some stupid things since leaving us but the best response was beating his new team.

It’s such an own goal to boo a specific opposition player, so often backfires. Vardy is the perfect example of that working in our favour.

Re. Ihenacho, he now has a lot more credit in the bank so hopefully fans will encourage him - clear his kind of character responds better to support/good cop rather than bad cop.

Wondering if it’s a coincidence that he’s not been playing as well since playing in front of fans again...

Er 9 home defeats.

I grew up booing the opposition players now and then but not as a constant. Guess we all go along with the crowd sometimes however booing our own players is NO NO. Sure we are entitled to show frustration so we can initially vent among ourselves but then we show encouragement to our players like "c'mon lad, you can do better!" Booing is like kicking them when their already down. You can see the player is disappointed in himself and is trying to figure it out. Would you boo your own kid if it wasn't  quite panning out for him during a game? It's soul destroying. We as fans did it but its done lets not go there anymore. Fox fans are better than that.

Boo boys rile me so much I boo them even louder than they’re booing the players.

Mmmm, I’ve just realised the flaw in that. lol

Seriously though, I hate to hear booing, achieves absolutely nothing apart from having a negative impact on the player and team, it’s in everyone’s interest to get behind individual players when they’re having a tough time and the whole team in general.

As for Chillwell... respect goes both ways. He hasn't shown the same level of respect back to LCFC and the fans since he left for Chelski. I don't begrudge him if he wants to go elsewhere but show respect be mindful. Kante' left but the guy has been nothing but class. Humble and respectful in every way. Mahrez is another that could grow some brains. Never forget where you started and who helped you on your journey without whom you'd never get to where you are.

Our fans don't help our own players at times, never right to boo our own player until after full time if the result isn't right. Nacho is clearly affected by negative energy and it's no wonder he's been sensational when the fans haven't been allowed back in.

There are some absolute weirdos out there that boo Ngolo Kante so it should come as no surprise that people boo Iheanacho.

These people are beyond help. Full credit to Kelechi for cracking on this season and proving the doubters (weirdos) wrong.

Players should be given criticism, and booing at the end of a game is understandable.

Booing a player onto the pitch is part of the odd psyche of a football fan who also applaud players who've been sent off. There were questions as to why our fans booed Chilwell at the cup final but at least he wasn't our own player and affecting him could work in our favour.
