Thought Spain were the better team, unlucky there. Well done to Italy though, they have been brilliant throughout the tournament

Unbeaten in the pre tournament games,  the qualifiers, the groups and the knockouts so far. Doesn't look good for us if we get there.

Best thing about Italy being in the final is you know they will all be crying when England bring football home. No chance of a water shortage this summer with them amount of tears.

Morata might as well have pointed to where he was putting it

The beeping has already started down here.

All police leave will be cancelled, on Sunday, if England win tomorrow.

The final is never easy, that is all I can say so I’m not surprised if we get their we would have to beat one of the best teams in the world. I always have confidence though and never say it can’t be done.

They aren’t unbeatable, Austria pushed them, Belgium had their chances and so did Spain. They are riding a wave now without question.

Everyone in their right minds knew morata would miss that. As the Spanish say, es un paquete!

Feel for him. Scores a great goal, but will be remembered for the pen. I hope the Spanish fans aren't too harsh on him.

If England get past Kasper & Co. then they'll have to bring their A game and even that might not be enough.

This, for me, was the best game of the tournament so far. Spain took it up a notch, matching Italy in skill, pace and invention.

Regrettable that it ended on penalties. It's not football, and always leaves some poor sod as the villain.

I think Italy are a much better suit to England than Spain would have been. Spain could turn it on at any point if their number 9 found where the goal was. That's all they were missing, a clinical finisher. I think Kane would thrive in the Spanish side.

Italy have also got more minutes in their legs and have had to battle to get to the final. I make England slight favourites to win the thing. Either way, two teams who have shown great team spirit.

Hate those kind of penalties but Jorginho does pull it off really well.

He is great at them and fools the keeper. However, surely the Spanish goalkeeper team would have prepared for a penalty shootout and knew what Jorginho would do. Unai Simon went down way too early. Before he took it I thought to myself, don't go down too early or he will rinse you. What happens? He makes him look like a fool.

No doubt those penalties are really tricky to keep out but he has to stay on his feet for as long as possible as Jorginho just waits for the keeper to move.

I agree with @gerblod , in terms of the standard of football played last night's game was far and away the game of the tournament. Despite what Rio Ferdinand says IF England win tonight then we'd have to be on absolute top form against the Italians. To be unbeaten in 33 international matches is an incredible achievement and in this tournament they've been stylish (group stage), ruthless (quarter final) and dug in when they had to (Round of 16 & Semi) and come out on top every single time.

Every run has to come to an end. It's a good run no doubt, especially considering they barely conceed. However, like England, Italy have not faced many great challenges until the last two games. But fair play, they mastered both.

If we get through i would have preferred spain tbh they aren't very good in the air and I reckon we'd have battered them with set pieces also our backline has a lot more pace than Italy's as well so they wouldn't have been able to play this way against us.

You go fridge a few times watching this today and you'll be knackered.

Dont mean you'll be too tired to keep going fridge tomorrow  night does it???

If you go for a run every day, you’re probably ok to run the next day.

if on one day you suddenly have to run 1/3 further at a more demanding pace, you’re next run will suffer. You won’t be as quick and will slow down sooner. Especially if the person you’re racing against didn’t have to put in the same levels of effort.

Mancini has worked a miracle. If this Italian team had a proper world class striker, like any of those from their wonderful history, this tournament would be dead and buried. Best game I've been to in many a year.
