I don't go and watch England, I don't feel the same connection as I do to Leicester. Watching the games in the pub surrounded by people who don't usually follow football isn't the same as going to a Leicester away game.

Same as me, been to one England match over 20 years ago and never really felt part of it. Want them to do well obviously, and really liked it when we had our players involved, but yeah the feeling is totally different to the Cup semi-final in April.

I'm pretty sure my wife would leave me for Kasper in a heartbeat based how she bangs on about him so yeah...

Understandable to be fair! (That's more a comment about Kasper than yourself!)

She just told me she wants Denmark to beat England tonight because Denmark have a Leicester player and England don’t.

Anyone else here that hardcore? 😂

Why is she still your girlfriend?

Let's face it we could have had potentially 4 of our players in the England  squad and having none is a massive downer in my opinion. Could you imagine the scenes if someone like Barnes scored the winner in the final or even just the anticipation it might happen?

I don't feel much of a connection with any of the England footballers at the moment, I struggle to get excited over players like Kane and I find it hard to switch in to "England mode" and see them all as non-rivals all of a sudden.

I think having your own club player in the squad and seeing them working and celebrating with the others helps with that shift in mindset - I've really missed that.

It's been the opposite for me, I almost feel glad that we haven't had anyone come along. The amount of times I was just fuming cause we'd misused vardy, it blurred the line for me and now that club tribalism is completely out the door I can just enjoy it like I used to as a kid.

whatever Nigel Pearson said or done to Harry Kane has worked wonders lol.. i think thats the reason i fell out of love with England when he didnt play Vardy in 2016 and 2018 that done it for me but he seems to have learned his lesson playing melts like dier lingard at the time and ali etc ..

I'm still incredibly ambivalent towards this England team. Just not that arsed if they win it or not. Hate on me all you like. I can't really explain it but that's how I feel. I've enjoyed watching the tournament on the whole, but then I just like watching football.

I know what you mean about not feeling part of it. I went to see England v Lithuania and, my God, I was bored to tears and felt completely neutral when England scored.

I suppose the football the city play as opposed to the safety first of the national side. And all the hype doesn't help.Don't get me wrong i hope they win tonight, and go on to win the tourny. But i'll still not be that fussed.

Love LCFC and would give blood for them.

Dont care about the National side in any sport.

Might be "us darkies" of a certain age(Over 50) who grew up in the 80' s in a not so nice England thanks to our friends in the National  Front.

Speaking to a few of my fellow "Darkies" we are the same. No love towards England in any sport due to circumstances growing up.

It's funny but it doesnt relate to personal English sportsman like Nigel Benn, Bruno, Eubank, Hamilton, Tyson Fury = who I really root for or used to.

My kids support England and I try and tell them stories about what happened to me...I'm slowly changing their minds!!!

I dont care what people think and probably  most wont understand, but if you cant feel the love, you  just cant feel it can you.

wouldn't class that as hardcore to be honest i find it a little bit odd.

I have a mate who said the same. Personally i hope Kasper has an absolute shocker and Kane has a field day.

Leicester can wait its all about England for the next few hours and then hopefully the next few days.

Surely you’d rather Kasper play a blinder but England win.

I'm the same mate. England and international football just feels too big to feel part of something. Much prefer following my little Leicester city :teehee:

Put it this way, If Denmark had won, I wouldn't have been as pissed off as I would have been if we'd been beaten by anyone else (except Belgium)

Had the exact same comment from the fiancée

Really weird day. Proper up for it this morning, every England song on I could find, proper excited for it. Even walked into my gym in suburban America with Rule Britannia blaring.

Then gommo Kane sticks one passed Kasper and all I could think of was that final game of the season and I could barely celebrate. Biggest England win and game for a long time and all I could think of was melted action man and how much I hate him.

I feel very different when Grealish, Foden or other inoffensive skilful players get on the ball. There’s just some really fvcking dislikable England players aren’t there? Got to the point where my mates were quoting Kasper’s comments this week at final whistle and I was defending him.

Anyone else?

I care way more about my club than my country …….

infact, with no Leicester players involved in the squad, I find myself surprisingly indifferent to England.  It didn’t used to be like this and I can only put it down to the fact that I’ve watched us win big trophy’s and don’t need my county to provide that excitement in my life!

So because of a few racists in the 80's you've decided to poison your children minds to root against their own county?  Great parenting.  Bodes well for their future.

Growing up in Leicester I have been racially abused by Asians countless times, should I therefore tell my children to hold certain views against a whole community due to the actions of a few morons?
