coolhandfox Posted 3 August 2021 Posted 3 August 2021 75% of the gunners on the net haven't set foot in the Emirates of Highbury in there life or the UK for that matter. That's the issue when you are a massive club you get a loads of hanger on tools as fans. Even here on Foxestalk you can see it happening as we become more successful we attract more and more of a fan base which is deluded. 3

KDH is not going to contribute those types of numbers. How do you know he won't? If he takes over all set piece duties and plays every game, those numbers seem plausible for KDH.

(We may have to raise about £10m from other sales) The question is would we be a better team with these 3 acquisitions or to keep Maddison? It doesnt, as if we got 70m for Maddison all 3 of their clubs would bump their prices up.
MGLCFC Posted 3 August 2021 Posted 3 August 2021 Well I fully expect him to be involved tomorrow night.

All players have a ceiling - it works both ways - if we bought these 3 before selling Maddison, then it drives Maddison's price down as clubs know we need to sell to raise the money for the purchases made. 1

Maddison got 14 goals and 8 assists (22 Goal contributions) in the Championship the season we brought him, KDH got 3 goals and 6 assists (9 Goal contributions) last season in the championship. It would be a big ask in my view.

That is a good point, the internet has dramatically changed the fanbase of major clubs.I would say that 50 years ago 95% of gunners fans lived in N.London. How many of our fans know Leicester . I have walked down half the streets in the city and I know most of its history. The football club is an extension of the city and its people. You never really understand that from a distance. I welcome the massive increase in our support of course but I will always respect the opinions of real Leicester people above others.

Perhaps that's why transfer dealings can be so complex, particularly the closer you get to deadline day. Getting the best deal for outgoing and incoming players is about holding your nerve and unfortunately we sometimes miss out on players or fail to move players on.

UHDrive Posted 3 August 2021 Posted 3 August 2021 Maddison can't go without a like for like replacement. We have 2 playmakers with him and Tielemans and can't afford to drop one. I only see 2 possibilities if he were sold for £70m. 1) Funds would buy Berardi and Tarkowski and you could utilise perez as a number 10. 2) funds would buy Berardi and Tarkowski and a replacement buy for maddison. @Ric Flair Within your massive library of players is there anyone on the market right now, young or mature that could be bought for roughly £30mil to fill maddison's role? We also need to shift on some players I.e. Choudhury/mendy etc with more income available after.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 3 August 2021 Posted 3 August 2021 I don't let any of this transfer noise bother me I just bellow at the fact they all say arsenal not willing to meet anywhere near our valuation but things are ongoing and progressing, like it's 20 years ago and we'll just let him go for half his value because we're little old Leicester and arsenal are some sort of goliath. I'd have no issue, myself, if he was our big first name player to leave so we could reinvest to make the overall make up of the squad stronger. He had a great 2 months last season and that's how good he can be but he's very hit or miss for us, dead balls are a myth, if we can get 70m for him and we got a rw/am and back up centre back it's good business, but any less then they can jog on.
Popular Post Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 3 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 3 August 2021 And all this childish I'm a bigger fan than you bollocks, give it a rest, who cares if you are from Leicester or Notts or the States or Thailand or wherever or if you've set foot in filbert street/King power. I played at filbert Street when I was 11 in a school final so therefore all you plastics who haven't set foot on the pitch and played an actual game on the hallowed turf need to jog on? Welcome all fans new or old, local or far flung. If they're a dick they're a dick doesn't change how you feel about your team, well it shouldn't but somehow it does. You reckon people who have cried blood sweat and tears at Highbury for decades care less about some continental nob spouting garbage on Instagram? Highly doubt it. 10

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 3 August 2021 Posted 3 August 2021 (edited) Yeah 4-0, I was in goal so I have the best clean sheet record in lcfc history. 100%. Would have been 98 or 99, Matt elliot presented the medals/trophy. Was incredible. Edited 3 August 2021 by Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot 1
