There's not a player at Spurs or Arsenal who would do a job for us that they'd be prepared to exchange - it's a non-starter from the off.

I honestly think I would take it if they offered 60m for him. As good as he is on his day he's had a few injury problems and never looked back to his best when returning from those injuries. With our midfield options we should be looking at going 4-3-3 and that 60m could get us a top RW and a CB. On balance I think its a good move for all involved.

So after we pay Norwich the sell on fee we have about 50m left.

Take anything above 60m.. much prefer to see KDH play than Maddison.

Overrated show pony IMO .

So you would rather have a player with no PL experience, who has never played at that level then a player who in 98 PL apps has 21 goals and 17 assists, so nearly a goal contribution every 2 games without taking pens.

Arsenal can do one.

If there are two clubs we shouldn't even entertain bids from it's the two from North London, not for any of our big players.

We're disrupting the Big Six and they're the ones we're displacing. Let's keep it that way.

Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are different prospects. The top four still looks like a tough ask, and players will still jump at the chance to go to one of those. But if we're able to resist Arsenal and Spurs we really should do so and cement that reputation of smashing that glass ceiling of the greedy ESL clubs. Smashing the top four can come later.

Cash + player offers can get in the bin too. Generally speaking I'd take a couple of their squad players as squad players here but not if we're strengthening them by giving them Maddison.

Keeping Maddison and blooding KDH, Tavares (hopefully), Sowah, Suengchitthawon and Maswanhise would be my ideal scenario.

Maddison is a class act but not consistent. We are going backwards if we sell him.We do not want Arsenal

lightweights , we are bigger than this now.If we want to progress we need to keep our best players , the next three

weeks will tell us alot

I don't hate Maddison!!!!

Just don't rate him as much as you do. Is that ok?

Didn't Barnes have very limited PL experience before coming back to explode on the scene after his loan spell at WBA?... what's to say KDH can't do the same this season? He's impressed in pre season and arguably has been our best player?

Sorry, Maddison does not come over as a player who wants to stay medium/long term.. he'll love the bright lights of London, it's just up his street!

So, off you trot!!

If we got rid of every player who doesn't want to commit to us for the long term, we'd also probably also be waving goodbye to Tielmans, Ndidi and Fofana among others. And why bother trying to sign any top quality players either? They'd only be off after a few years.

Maddison is one of those players who can conjure up a piece of magic out of nothing to win us a game, or grab us a point when we've been behind. Such players are not easy to come by. In recent years we've struggled badly against teams that park the bus. We need players like Maddison and we should only sell him if a ridiculous offer comes in and we are confident of using that money to strengthen our attacking options.

People have been way over the top about what he's done off the field, but at the very least he's been a prat on several occasions since joining us, and wasn't without controversy before joining us.

I agree with the sentiment that he's clearly not a bad bloke - I wouldn't sell him because he's a 'bad influence', I'd sell him because I believe £60m for a player who turns up 10 times a season is an absolute steal.

Of course its ok.

Difference is we didn't have a LW scoring goals and assists in front of Barnes.

Rate him or not, Maddison had 14 goal contributions in 18/19, 10 in 19/20, 15 in 20/21.

KDH is not going to contribute those types of numbers.

We’re bereft of creativity as it is…. We can’t allow Maddison to leave, KDH looks good, but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest he will provide what Maddison does at the moment.

Wheatley's got his info from reading that Leicester "ITK" whopper who keeps posting on Arsenal Mania forum and then the forum members report it back giving the guy credibility.

A vicious cycle of people pretending to know things.

So I've had a text to say that Arsenal were in contact again yesterday, and this deal still is as close/far away as before depending on your viewpoint, as Arsenal are still trying to negotiate players + cash which Leicester have no interest in.
Arsenal have raised their initial £40 million + AMN interest, to now £50 million + AMN/Willock, but Leicester want cash to bring in their own targets, they have enough depth in midfield that AMN/Willock would not get game time.

Leicester still looking for a first choice right winger, a number 10/winger to challenge the starting 18 and a 4th choice CB.
The only player Leicester would have interest in as part of an exchange, not in Arsenal's first team, would be William Saliba to become that 4th choice CB, however, they would still demand £60 million in cash too.

Honestly I'd take 60m + Saliba

If the Gooneys really want Maddison and he pushes to leave then they should stick to their guns say £70m no player in exchange stump up the cash or not even thinking about it, because are the ones being touted about any better than what we currently have ? NO !!

Brendan looks like he may be digging his feet in this window that we don’t need to have to or have no desire to sell any of our quality players !

Can’t see it happening, but the only proposal I’d potentially take is 50-60 million + Willock.

Potentially selling him all depends on the formation we want to play, if our idea is to go 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, then he simply doesn’t fit the system, also selling him could free up some funds to strengthen ourselves in other areas.

Ever since Maddison joined he’s blown hot and cold, his hot spells seem to come over a prolonged period, then his cold spells seem to come over a prolonged period, on his day he is absolutely brilliant, but when he is bad, he is a very frustrating player to watch.

Cringeworthy.
