You could do a similar analysis of most footballers and the numbers will be hard to comprehend but supply and demand. It's not like this is taxpayers or the public money, but it's financed by private individuals.

The thing is these footballers make that money with their marketing value and performances on the pitch that leads to huge prize money for the teams involved. It’s capitalism plain and simple, they are worth every penny in the system we live under.

The alternative would be them generating that income for the club and it going to line the billionaire owners pockets instead.

It’s not his fault he gets paid silly money. None of us would turn it down would we…

Football is built around greed, it doesn't matter if you look at the players or the TV companies. Football isn't a fans sport, it's a business unfortunately.

I'm more frustrated at Sky Sports / BT sports charging the public extortionate money to enjoy the sport they love than I am Jack Grealish taking whatever money out the bank account of the filthy rich.

Can’t work out why people are so offended over what footballers are paid. That’s the industry. Plus your working of his ‘hourly rate’ for 90 minutes is a bit strange. It’s still astronomical but he’ll still be training however many times a week for however many hours. Travel to and from away games, staying away from family/friends etc.

Of course I don’t know what you do, but would you divide your salary down by the length of the single call that concludes in a sale? The duration of the meeting that results in a project completion? Or do you like to think you’re earning your money in the weeks, if not months, of groundwork that goes into delivering those things?

I agree that the money involved is utterly absurd and I’m sure the vast majority of us have a much more miserable time earning our living than Grealish does, but that’s not his fault. Fair play to him or any footballer who’s securing the financial safety of their families for generations to come.

Absolutely, what has he got to do with Leicester City. C'mon mods move to GF.

When his agent said CITY had made a 100M bid he immediately signed the contract but he thought it was Leicester, not Manchester.
