Not sure about all this talk of Soumaré providing the extra strength and ball retention. Only seen him once for us and, unless my eyes deceived me, he was guilty of getting on the wrong side of opponents, being out muscled and giving the ball away on at least two occasions in the short time he was on the pitch. Early days but if I was to choose now then KDH would be in front of him in the pecking order.

I haven't seen him being out-muscled at all and although every Leicester player is guilty of giving the ball away at times, I thought Soumare was one of, if not the best at, not giving it away much over all. I thought that he kept things fairly simple and recycled the ball well. Tielemans is forever giving the ball away but that tends to get overlooked because some assume that it must have been because he was trying a more complex pass but it's probably more likely because he's given more leeway for being a fans favourite.

Given time, I think that because of the presence of a player like Soumare, Tielemans will get those seconds of extra time and be even more damaging to the opposition. I would be very surprised if in a couple of months time, people aren't raving about Soumare though he's perhaps not going to be the sort of player that will look flash but more that he would be sorely missed if he's not there.

Wouldn't mind seeing Ndidi, Soumare and Youri in a middle 3, with Barnes, Vardy and Maddison up front.

Pairing Wilf and Soumare gives us more physicality to deal with likes of Antonio and Soucek, whilst giving protection to Youri and our defence

At this rate, we're more likely to see Ndidi playing at the back than in midfield.

I suspect Rodgers would like to have the fixture later on in the season . A this was the type of game Soumare is ideal for .

Still think after his first little taster of Prem football he will be now well aware of what he needs to do to perform if picked . Also Daka is allegedly good in the air so hopefully he'll get some minutes to give West Ham a good test .

Yes, I agree. Unfortunately, did not look too encouraging last time when we started with 3ATB against West Ham back in April. :(

Won't be an easy game. I will definitely be satisfied with a point given the context of the situation (injuries, level of opposition, home disadvantage, etc).

Soumare isn't just talented, he looks like a beast as well! I'm sure it'll help with his demeanor alone aswell as his presence in the box. Beefing the midfield is essential tonight and his inclusion can only do us good.

I’m not sure why we haven’t tried out Nacho in the Right forward position tbh, given the job in the current system (if you actually watch Perez in between bouts of foaming at the mouth in anger at him daring to pull on our shirt) is to move narrow into the 10 slot and/or get into box depending on where our attacks are coming from and where Maddison is. The rest of the time he would be linking up to try and feed in Ricardo down the right.

Nacho has the skill set to link up play, combine with Ricardo out wide, play at #10 when he drifts infield, and is a miles better finisher than Perez when he needs to drop into the box. He can’t press as well as Perez, and he is not as good defensively, he also probably isn’t as switched on tactically as Perez... but this could be offset by his superior linkup play and finishing. Potentially. Against weaker sides (when Perez isnt needed for his defensive prowess) it might work quite well.

Edit: I’m not suggesting West Ham are one of those weaker sides. I’d play Perez tonight.

I've watched him.  I've watched him a lot more times than I would have liked and Perez seems to get an inordinate amount of praise for simply getting out of Ricardo's way.  Lauded as if it were some kind of scarce tactical acumen.   Damned with faint praise I suppose.  I'd prefer to see some kind of actual contribution.

Nacho's defensive capabilites might not be up to much, that's not his game, but he can press as evinced in The Charity Shield.

I think the biggest threat for us tonight will be Bowen. When he's on his game he's extremely dangerous.

That said, West Ham have a strong team throughout and it's going to be very tough tonight.

These are the teams we should be turning over if we're a top 5 team but with the squad we have available, I'd bite their hand off for a point.

Not much other choice,  with all the injuries  they beat us twice last season,  they looked uncomfortable when Newcastle attacked them , roll the dice,  nothing to loose at this stage of the season. My team.

Schmeichel

 Castenige  nididi  suyuncu

Ricardo  soumare  tielemans  Thomas

Dakar   vardy  barnes.
