Koke Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 Vestergaard to start over Dan Amartey probably, and Ryan Bertrand in for Luke Thomas. The rest of the team picks itself. 2

Cropwellfox Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 Yep Vertergaard and Kelz in for Dan and Maddison. Bertrand to return if he’s able to as well.

Popular Post HighPeakFox Posted 14 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 14 August 2021 Facts? You wants facts? Here's a fact. The last time we played our 2nd match of the season away at WHU was in 2015. No significant correlation I can think of there... 2 1 14

Pliskin Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 Another tough game, and an important test for the guys, because we were absolute dog shit against these, twice last season. So there’s an early wrong to right. 1 1
st albans fox Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 If Bertrand is positive today (and is confirmed by pcr) then he theoretically can possibly come out of isolation that Monday (although I think will be Tuesday). He won’t be able to train with the team whilst he is isolating. I can’t see any way he plays 3
Foxxed Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 Vestergaard looked a bit lost in his first game. But he and Soyuncu need to start their partnership sometime. 1
winteriscoming Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 Tough game. Bertrand if available in for Thomas and KDH for Perez. 1
Popular Post Bats8711 Posted 14 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 14 August 2021 Am I missing something? Why is it automatic Bertrand would come in for Luke when available? 8
KFS Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 Kasper Ricardo Vestergaard Soyuncu Thomas Tielemans Ndidi Perez Iheanacho Barnes Vardy 3
trabuch Posted 14 August 2021 Posted 14 August 2021 If Maddison doesn't sort his head out, he can sit on the bench - he was a waste of a sub today. Vardy shouldn't have to do 90mins. We've got Daka but all the subs were used. 2 1
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 14 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 14 August 2021 This will be an interesting game because I think we’re going to see a Brendan “special.” First full season here we played great but we’re dominated by Liverpool and Man City, so he made changes and got results against them next time round. Last season I’d argue that the team that dominated us the most was West Ham in both games. We simply couldn’t deal with their physicality. I think we’ll see us start the game how we ended today - 343 with Tielemans, Ndidi and Soumare in the middle with Soyuncu, Amartey and Vestergaard at the back. West Ham’s key players for me are Antonio and Soucek. Antonio requires us to match his heavyweight boxer physicality and we have to match Soucek’s energy levels. Coufal is also one to watch but I think Bertrand will have to miss out again due to COVID. This is a really tough game but also a measure of our progress, if there is any. I think there will be but am worried this game has come a bit too quickly because our new signings could understandably use some more time to get used to their team mates. 8

I am not sure who makes the calls but I suspect in Rodgers world the players are giving a lot of latitude and are allowed to make the calls. I think the physio needs to read the situation and relay his opinion to Rodgers, irrespective of what the player says. 1

Perhaps he needs to admit he's not right.

You’re probably right but it’s very deflating to be already playing a back five within an hour of the new season starting. We’ve got lots more midfield and forward options now as well as a Ricardo back to his best, yet this formation just stifles everything good about us. 10
Popular Post Aus Fox Posted 14 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 14 August 2021 Can’t believe how many posters are saying drop Luke Thomas, man of the match today for me. It’s now his shirt to lose in my eyes. It is a great position to be in, where if you miss a game through injury or suspension it’s going to be tough to get back in. 7

Farrington fox Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 Having just seen the game through, yes big Dan made a decent block. But in all honesty very nearly cost us 2 goals. He is a bit of a liability. With Vestergaard having the benefit of a over a weeks training before WHU. He has to start ahead of Dan imo.
