Daka needs to be able to run onto balls.  He spent most of his time last night with his back to goal, trying to make something of a poorly weighted or inaccurate pass.

Misread my bad - agreed

As soon as Seniorman came on we played the exact throughballs that would have been perfect for Daka. Was that a shift in the way we played once Tielemans was on or a sad indictment of Daka'a movement? It was frustrating to see Iheanacho on the end of them as we'd have been good for a point at least with one of them with Daka on.

There were 2 or 3 times first half where he had made a run and was ignored or it came too late. Like you say, weird that we started lobbing nice balls into space once he went off lol

Let's face it he's Musa 2. This was exposed by his total lack of physicality when he was bullied off the ball like a 10 year old against Forest. It was embarrassing. He may bag a goal every now and again but he's no Vardy.

Hahahaahaaahahahahahahahahaahaha

Maybe when Vardy retires you should stop watching Leicester, or football in general.

Good player but when on his own he does lack the physical attributes to lead the attack. IMO only Vardy has the ability to work up front on his own Daka and Iheanacho need someone alongside to be effective.

But Vardy wasn't the Vardy we know today when he joined, this lad has all the raw attributes to be successful in this league, give him a little time

What an absolute load of tosh!

was always going to be tough playing in such an isolated role against two of the best CB's in the prem and VVD is probably the best CB in the world!

I like Daka he isnt the finished article but you get bodies around him and the correct ball and he will find you the net.

Wow, one or two of the comments here are wild.

He's made a really good start, especially for his first season. He hasn't scored in the previous couple of games but the potential is there to see and his performances in Europe were superb.

Runs in behind is literally his game, it's what he's there for. Unfortunately he spent most of yesterday being asked to play with his back to goal and having his runs behind ignored. All while Fat Gary off the Monsell rants on here in broken, drunken English that he's not strong enough because he can't sumo wrestle 6' 4", 200lb Virgil van Dijk off the ball.

What we did yesterday was absolutely peak Brendan Rodgers Leicester.

We repeatedly ignore Daka's runs behind and offer him nothing but passes in to feet, contrary to his strengths.

We then sub him off and persist in repeatedly trying to get Iheanacho in behind who is both slower but also much better at dropping in and hold up play.

And all the while this is what happens when you go away from home and play them BOTH in front of Madders.

You know, just the two assists there for Nacho.

They've the potential to be an absolutely monster strike partnership. He should be building the team around them, instead he's mis using both.

Yeah, would love to see more of Daka and Kel upfront. Diamond is the way to get them both in, with Maddison behind them, would prefer that to 3-5-2.

some of the best performances we have had in recenty years were with Vardy and Kel up top. So i cant see who this wouldnt work...

                        Kasper

             Big Dan Wilf Justin

Ricardo                              Thomas

              KHD Youri Madders

                       Kel

                    Patson

Also anyone notice the commentator saying last night, Leicester will look to play Iheanacho in behind more as he’s faster than Daka.

Nope. They’re absolutely clueless, reckon Daka is probably one of the fastest forwards in the prem.

we brought YT on who looks to play the ball in behind and took daka off who had been looking for that ball most of the first half …..

liverpool did well in cutting madders option to play that through ball to him but if YT and madders we’re both on together then they would have struggled to shut off both passing lanes

kel doesn’t do one up front - if we were bringing him on then we should have changed shape at the same time to either leave daka on or bring Barnes/perez and kel on together

How many times since Rogers has been here has Vardy been absolutely anonymous for 90 minutes? I remember a spell last season of at least a month where he never got involved in games at all. It's how Rogers wants him to play. I think Daka was misused badly, it's like Rogers is an idiot sometimes.

Away from the defensive shambles, the fact our strikers barely take part in matches with the quality of attackers we've got is shameful on Rodgers' part.

Vardy and Iheanacho's numbers in recent times have been extraordinary, really.

Playing devil advocate

So he getting the best out of them asking them to play that way or not?

Would you prefer them to be more involved and have worse numbers?

Vardy second highest assist total in the PL last season.
